The hiring freeze was in place first though?

Civil disobedience takes precedence over things that *might* happen, especially when something like climate change is on the line.

Trump was never gonna lift that freeze. They're gonna be selling off as much federal land as possible ASAP and will cut down as many "environmental" agencies as they can as well.

Sorry, Trump will get off scott-free, and the voters will learn nothing:

The process of embracing a charlatan’s empowering vision is not rational, which means that rational arguments are unlikely, in isolation, to dispel it. Studies have repeatedly demonstrated that people cling tenaciously to their worldviews, and conflicting data may actually strengthen their beliefs. (Just look at this family who thinks Trump is “a man of faith who will bring Godliness back.”) To renounce Trump would mean admitting that one’s worldview—of a country wracked by carnage, as the president put it in his inaugural address, and a truth-telling hero who can heal it—is fundamentally mistaken. And that can also mean confronting existential panic without a panacea. It is much easier to forgive Trump for not locking her up than to wrestle with such truths.

Trump is a lot like the late Dementia riddled Reagan, but he's already lost his marbles a long time ago. At this point he's just repeating whatever the last adviser he talked to said to him.

It's gonna be like Reagan again. They'll do their best to cover it up and deny it for as long as possible but unlike Reagan, Trump isn't charismatic or an actor. He's already falling apart.

It's actually shocking how uncharismatic Trump is. If what he says wasn't so scary it would be just plain boring.

This is one of the reasons I'm skeptical about the "cult of personality" notion. The man is loving dull.

I already think its boring; its also incredibly harmful and we ought to remain in defiance of it- but stripped of the golden ego that gives his style any novelty, its just the same drum that the ruling class has pounded since forever- after a couple months post election, that style wears thin to the point of eye-rolling. Boring.

So instead of actually speaking the truth you think federal employees should let Trump hush them in hopes that he magically has a change of heart and stops gutting all these agencies.

That's impressively dumb.

An official employee speaking out on a highly visible channel gains a lot more traction than someone using their personal account.

Why do you think Trump would give a crap about any of that? Stop hoping that Trump is going to treat anything environment related with respect. Literally every action he's made towards the environment so far has been negative. He's not going to stop with the gag order. He's going to shrink down organizations like the EPA and NPS until they might as well not exist. This was gonna happen regardless of what was said, but at least now more people might notice.
