Fain80 posted:So I went back and looked at the Google Sheet that keeps track of the funding tracker. On the day of my $8000 refund this was the funding by hour: Yeah, we've known for sometime that the tracking doesn't (because it probably can't) take into account refunds, chargebacks etc since those aren't tied to the store.

Sappo569 posted:Any guesses on the next sale ? I'm going to assume we're going to see a ground exploration / combat vehicle with six wheels. It will have a real nifty CGI trailer with it that shows a group of people making planetary entry, landing in a reddish rocky landscape, and then driving the vehicle to eventually run into either an alien artifact, crashed ship, or giant skeleton of some beast. Also they may not show the "what" but only their expressions of pure joy before it cuts to an end and Chris Roberts just going "This is MY dream! To boldy go where no man has gone before! Join me TODAY!" And the sale will start and CIG will rocket to $10 million dollars in thirty minutes.

The gently caress? what even is this? why can't you get a prop airsoft gun that looks real why did you make it last about three times as long as the joke would have been funny if you had actually been funny with it why is sandi in this is this real life?

The Titanic posted:I'm going to assume we're going to see a ground exploration / combat vehicle with six wheels. ground based ships are basically an untapped market and CIG did release some stolen concept art of moon bases so we are 100% confirmed to have player owned bases, so just start selling real estate and $300 space bulldozer packages with $75 bucket attachments.

Fain80 posted:So I went back and looked at the Google Sheet that keeps track of the funding tracker. On the day of my $8000 refund this was the funding by hour: Yeah we've known that forever. I've looked at their historical numbers (daily, not hourly) and done some basic histogram type poo poo on them and though there's a few things that could be questionable, I think they all have pretty easy/plausible explanations. If they're loving with the numbers they're doing a reasonably competent job at hiding it. Which begs the response "Why would this be the one thing they do competently?" but if you've read Cryptonomicon and have an IQ over 90 or so, you already know the major pitfalls to avoid.

Here's some of Ben's more noteworthy work accomplishments: 1. Telling everyone that SM was weeks not months away. 2. Telling everyone that that dumb pirate spaceship wasn't a pile of poo poo. 3. Fitting through an automated door made out of a garage door opener and some plywood they found in the alley.

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but one would think as it moved through the pipeline others would have brought up the missing seat. that was actually him being a huge loving liar which apparently worked since that's how people remember it now. Originally, during all the backlash when the ship actually came out he went and came back with a response about how an artist had decided to make changes to the model without telling anyone so of course he didn't know. We roasted that as him obviously not knowing what's going on, and them selling a two seat ship that spent months in development as a single seat with nobody apparently noticing or caring it wasn't the concept ship they sold everyone. Then, months later, he came and said "the guy in charge quit a long time ago and nobody can answer the question" which is apparently all anyone remembers anymore, absolving Ben of his blame at being a clueless "Master of Ships"
