Don't know too much about this besides a vague "Dad protects his family from something evil in the woods outside their house" summary, but the poster hits some really good notes for me.

That is a very bad poster. It tells you nothing except the title, and presents that in such a way that nine out of ten people will mistake it for a strapline.

Scrolling down, I swore it was gonna be a new Alien poster. Like at the bottom it would say. Mostly. With like, an egg or something on the ground.

Jedit posted:That is a very bad poster. It tells you nothing except the title, and presents that in such a way that nine out of ten people will mistake it for a strapline. Hard disagree. Guard dogs are obviously a well-known concept, and a wolfish dog looking out into utter darkness under an evocative title is very effective. Also, the tiny "IT" almost looks like a pair of eyes at first glance.

That looks like a bigger corgi. I appreciate the idea but the photo of the dog they used isn't very good, they should have gone for a different one with more dynamism, movement, character. There's absolutely no reason for the symmetry. The way the dog is cut at the bottom doesn't look good, it's overall not a very fortunate composition, there's no tension despite the premise that there should be some. Welp, those are my thoughts about a photo of a dog and some dark background.

Having lived rurally most of my childhood, the imagery of your dog straining at their leash at something just beyond that sequestering cloak of darkness surrounding your property is pretty evocative.

I wonder if John Wick has 3 cars with the license plates WICK I, WICK II, and WICK IV, just so he can fool mob mooks into thinking he's getting away in a car with WICK III.

Japan is pretty good at King Kong posters. edit: And that dog poster rules. It'd rule more without the text and just a faint impression of trees going all the way up that dark space, but it still rules. Teenage Fansub fucked around with this message at 11:15 on Feb 7, 2017 |
