So, they're saying that if the player is dead inside, their game's version of Link is also dead. Makes sense.

"Link is dead" always seemed really weird to me. Dead people don't experience grief, and Majora's Mask has a VERY clear stages-of-grief theme.

And becomes a problem if they make a sequel. Unless you say it's taking them a really long time to die, I guess.

Whoa guys, what if in the very last Zelda game, you wake up and you're in Skyloft and Zelda's loftwing is bitching at you to get moving?

bef posted:Yeah it was different and not what the People wanted on release but playing it for 10 minutes you realized none of that criticism mattered because there wasn't anything as pretty as that game. Loved the bomb/smoke effects It takes just about until you start hearing the bouncy Outset Island music, with its little tribute to Kokiri Forest inside of it, to realize that it's okay that it's a cartoon. I think the juxtaposition of Windwaker Link as this perpetually bright-eyed cartoon child but that the world is a (very pretty) horrifying post-apocalytpic drownyard with creepy, weeping bottle fairies and a Ganondorf who... just wanted to feel... the wind... makes it one of the darker games, actually.

On the subject of dreams, what's the consensus on Koholint Island? Was it a "dream" in that it never existed physically and was a world Link was trapped in while unconscious, or was it a "dream" in the same way that Zanarkand was in FFX, where it was a physical manifestation of the Wind Fish's dreams and was an actual place that you could physically sail to and visit for as long as the Wind Fish slept?

Link will wake up and think it's all a dream. But then he'll see the Master Sword by his bed and realize it actually wasn't a dream.

Dream Land is another dimension our scientists have yet to fully understand. But beings like Wart can go from one dream to the next and still exist as long as they leave the dream before its creator awakens. That's what happened to Mouser and the rest of the Subcon peeps we never see anymore. They didn't get out while the getting was good.

Once they go out of production they become less available and are more likely to be in poor condition, unless you get knockoffs of the consoles which are increasingly uncommon as more generations come out. Consoles don't vanish into dust but they do stop getting made.

Consoles don't really become rare and I doubt anyone is going to have to scour the world looking for a Wii U.

As far as pronunciation goes, I just found out that other people pronounce Fi with a long I sound and not a long e sound. Fie sounds dumb. Fee is where it's at. Also, I always pronounced Navi as "navy". Probably because I was like 13 when I played it and never thought about pronouncing it any other way.
