moe is really easily defined:

for a bullseye example of moe, just watch episode two of maidragon where the new dragon accosts, assaults, and attempts to annihilate our protagonist. and then continue with the rest of the show

The Colonel posted:yeah gabdrop is funny but maidragon is an equally good comedy that also focuses on characters actually developing and exploring their relationships Oh the relationship part makes sense its from the same mangaka who did Danna ga Nani. If anyone watched the anime for that its definitely about relationships and its really a fun short anime series.

StrixNebulosa posted:A) No, no it didn't there was maybe one in ep1 that i thought looked at all good, otherwise they were just used really awkwardly and seemed redundant. reminds me of guys like Mamoru Kanbe who have distinctive and cool directorial gimmicks but use them badly.

Urara Meirochou is a cute show that's facing some really stiff competition with shows like Demi-chan and Maidragon, but it's definitely worth a look.

Urara is definitely the show I wouldn't have recommended to the guy who doesn't want shows that are just moe and nothing else in particular

That looks cute enough for me to check out, though! Thanks! (I've been watching Iron Leaguer tonight because robot anime, and...it's surprisingly sad for a kid's show? I was not expecting the first episode to end in torture.)

Seiren did a cute thing this week, melding in what seem to be typical VN/DatingSim mechanics with the plot of the show. Protag asked his sister what the girls were talking about, which led into what started out sounding an awful lot like the canned "Well, the girls think that your strengths are X, but your weaknesses are Y, and they would prefer that you Z" thing lampooned in TWGOK and Nyaruko.

I tried watching Urara a while ago, but couldn't get into it enough to merit me adding another show this season. Maybe when I have time to watch extra stuff.

Urara's okay, but I got pretty bored with it. The characters just don't strike me as super distinct.

THIS JUST IN THIS YEAR'S PRECURE ANIME IS THE BEST ONE (out of the three precure shows i've watched including this one) one of the precure's transformation sequences is animated by the animation director of lwa episode 4, and (i think?) one of the co-directors is the director of digimon tamers
