Hey maybe it's not for everyone. Gather rates are about twice as good as Ark vanilla. I built a base in a couple hours which seems reasonable to me. If you have a clan of 3 people you have most of everything after 5 days of vanilla. Whats the point of getting everything by yourself in a couple hours? Why even buy the game?

Some of us have careers and commitments that make it arduous to spend 5 hours clicking LMB or holding E to be rewarded with a hovel and maybe a chance to wear a leather harness that somehow counts as armor. Couple that with the fact that one day I know I'll log on to find everything obliterated, it's nice if the effort to acquire that stuff isn't too agonizing so that we can get down to gameplay and having fun killing and destroying each others sandcastles and then be able to get back up without spending 48 hours to get things back to baseline. I guess I've gotten old but I no longer find it fun or the mark of a good game to have the ability to grief somebody so hard that they're forced to leave the server because they have no chance. ARK had that in spades. As far as this game vs ARK. A lot of people like to claim that this game is less grindy than ARK. It might be from the fact that you can't / don't have to tame dinos, which was loving abysmal, but the whole gathering/farming elements are pretty close to ARK overall and that leads to burnout for a lot of people, especially when we have the aforementioned responsibilities. So to each his own, you enjoy 1x gathering and xp rates, but for me I found myself almost falling asleep last night.

Like my tiny group of 3 on a 2X server managed to build a really dope cliff fortress because we scouted a good location and communicated our priorities. We just broke into T2 and are having a blast. Edit: Three hours a day? I'm sorry if this sounds rude but are you single with no commitments? It's cool if you are, I was for a while, but I have a house and pets and a girlfriend to consider.

Away with the "my playstyle is superiour to yours" bullshit and back to the fun things in this game... Nearly finished my litte arena on the [EU] The Riddle of Steel - PVP Server and everybody that wants to do some betting, sparring, cheering and light hearted fighting is welcome to visit the Crosswood Arena (Open from 6:00pm CET till ???). It's located outside the borders of Arc's main base on the plateau behind the great cannibal temple on the eastern middle of the map (T9 on the reddit map). Some more flags and stuff will be added as soon as our interiour decorations specialist is online later today.

From a gameplay perspective, 1x gather rates makes pvp and raiding an actually profitable venture, and conservation and smart use of materials becomes an actual thing you have to do if you aren't just brute forcing resource gathering with a billion hours a day. That being said, 1x resource gathering is completely miserable to play.

On a 3x server it took me something on the order of 6+ hours just to rebuild all of my crafting stations/well/wheel of pain.

Dudes and dudettes, I think we can all agree that playing the game and enjoying it in any way that is slightly different than the way I do makes you dumb, bad, awful, and probably someone that enjoys casually kicking dogs for fun. Edit: Except Taylor Swift up there who I imagine has an algorithmic system set up so they can kick the optimum amount of dogs per minute.

Anyone have any experience with a player crashing out when trying to connect to a dedicated server? The server log shows this error: LogOnline:Display: STEAM: Ticket not valid - (their SteamID) Seems like some sort of DRM error or something but I'm at a loss to explain it.
