Frankly the relationship of the PewdiePie story with the Blondie comic that provoked the discussion was tangential at best. Also unnecessarily cryptic. I was the first one to actually mention PewdiePie by name, to the point I was wondering if the thread was talking about some other YouTuber. The Wall Street Journal story broke a week ago.

I'm pretty sure the Blondie writer specifically intended to reference PewDiePie, albeit in the classic comics tradition of never referring to real world things by name. His channel has been the number one on YouTube for many years and he made his name with videos of him reacting to scary games.

The Garfield cartoon and animated specials are one of the few adaptions that I consider to actually be better than their source material (another being the Dilbert cartoon).

The Dilbert cartoon was weird, and very different from the strips - to the extent that I almost wonder whether Adams had any creative input on it at all. It was great, but the humor did get a bit lowbrow at times.

The three-parter where Dilbert gets mpreg is inspired. If I learned that Adams had much of any involvement in making that happen, it would break my heart

If I remember right Adams actually had very little creative input in the series (in fact, a few ideas he did bring to the table were rejected) and the show was all the better for it (hell, I still hear the voices from the cartoon in my head when I read the strip). A pity they put it on a channel that barely anyone watched and didn't market it that well though which eventually lead to it's cancelation (it did manage to get two seasons though which is pretty good by itself).

It's 50% that and 50% spinning backstage conspiracy theories about why your favorite wrestler is not getting to do cool things but meanwhile there's yet another segment for a wrestler you don't like.

Pretty fun, all in all, but there's an exhausting amount of stuff to keep up with these days. It's easy to burn out.
