He came down on "something needs to be done" but never really expressed an actual view on the matter, especially when he was standing in the middle of Rene and Curtis' little debate, which would have been the ideal moment for him to just go "You know I agree with THIS SIDE". I have yet to see a single show try and take on gun control and handle it well and subtle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TsEAaC75s4 TwoPair posted:Also while I know no TV producer in their right mind would let their characters unilaterally fall on one side of a hot button political issue and potentially alienate their viewer base on the other side, it is really awkward having Oliver Queen, the ultimate comic liberal, be the guy who won't pick a side. This kind of political cowardice is part of why so many superhero adaptations feel soulless. Captain America should be telling nazi punks to gently caress off, Daredevil should be a story about class warfare, etc. But to keep mass appeal, these characters' views and ideals become watered down and contradictory, and it ends up making a bunch of them feel pretty generic.

I remember how excited I was when I thought Dark Knight Rises was seriously going to be about class warfare and such, due to the previews and some of Catwoman's lines, but no, it was a pretty flat superhero movie. So much wasted potential.

If anything Green Arrow at his roots is a socialist rebel and an adaptation of his stuff should reflect that on screen. I blame them getting rid of his goatee. That was the first step in moving him away from his political connections.

I don't much about Maximus but judging by who they cast I assume he is a vindictive, hateful person. Also besides checking out Rheon on GoT I also recommend seeing him in Misfits where he plays a slightly unhinged Joy DIvision loving nerd who doesn't know how to interact with people.

It's a good thing his supervillain name doesn't follow Black Bolt's because "Max Bolt" just doesn't sound like a bad guy at all.

Does Maximus actually have a disorder of any sorts or is he just "Mad" as in like a mad scientist?
|
# ? Feb 21, 2017 21:08 |
His madness is like some kinda evil brain magic in some stories, it's not exactly something you can diagnose. But yeah, he's bugfuck. He was a bit more Loki-like in his earlier appearances, but his name kinda made writers write him increasingly insane.

Hey guys, there is this other TV show that he was in called Misfits. It was British. It has people with super powers. I would have thought that show would have been up everyone's alley here. Watch the first two seasons to see how good he is. Also watch the first two seasons because they are good.
