People whine about liberals being crybaby snowflakes and then get really offended when they get poo poo on themselves. If you're going to defend flinging poo poo around, you're gonna get hit with some in return and trump's tweets getting mad at people for criticizing him are loving hilarious like that. Goddamn lol. Feminist groups have claimed porn was sexist since the 80s, and smoking weed is called racist, I guess, in your head? Maybe? Because you need to make a false equivalence with the party that has concretely said porn is a morally abhorrent cancer that should be censored for the last half-century and weed is a gateway drug for junkies who should be locked up. Whatever justifies your ignorance and fond days of high school libertarianism.

Ok real question here for everyone: would you go on a reality show hosted by President Don Trump where you wouldn't get any money but the winner would get to have a full presidential pardon for one future crime?

You win by being the last contestant to survive in an extreme wife swap were you become Donald's personal wife and your SO goes to Guantanamo.

Nobody calls smoking weed racist but I can easily think of a scenario where people could form a 'coherent' logical route identifying weed smoking as a form of cultural appropriation.

Do you think that because you could think of a scenario in which someone could, conceivably, identify weed smoking as a form of cultural appropriation, that it makes this a valid comparison between these groups?

when contrasting voter turnout to the previous election, wasn't the primary reason why the demos lost because they just failed to energize a bunch of voters that turned out in the prev election? im not sure if that could be qualified as a rebellion, but then again, i dont watch quality youtube series This Week In Stupid

A major problem of looking at voter turnout numbers, is that due to the electoral college, national numbers are almost useless compared to regional numbers. Because in terms of national numbers, the dems and repubs turned out at the same rates. But in places like the rust belt, black voters did not turn out for Clinton like they did for Obama, which is the biggest reason she lost those states.

The difference in national numbers for Hillary came in the form of California and the east coast states which (iirc) had higher turnouts than 2012 which gave her similar vote totals to Obama but meant she lost the college and the presidency.

An interesting thing to note, Florida was one of the few swing states where Hillary had higher turnout than obama...but trump ended up with the most votes for a candidate from Florida.

Tldr; there was a rebellion in the rust belt, but had people run to her in cali and New York so nationally it looks similar to 2012.

It was really weird because she campaigned heavily in the blue strongholds, too. Her people really did think it was just going to be a coronation.

Most of the hillary negative ads against trump seemed designed for hillary voters and not trump voters.

I mean, how do you not manage to attack a guy whose catchphrase is "you're fired" on the economy? All you have to do is splice in "You're fired" and then some stock footage of closed factories and closed businesses and it'd be effective as gently caress.

There's a legitimate conversation to have about important cultural aspects being commandeered for idiotic reasons or profit (commodification) but I think it's unavoidable and certainly not something you can suppress without going down a silly path where everything is off limits.

Fredrik DeBoer had a great article about how nobody can define what is and isn't cultural appropriation, I'll try finding it.

They had Kaine during the VP debate say "we need a "you're hired" president, not a "you're fired" president" and it was dead silent, no laughter, no applause, just awkward silence. So they kinda tried it lol.

A lot of drug laws were written 100+ years ago and were most definitely racially motivated. There's a reason a large portion of the black male population is behind bars on drug charges.
