Bob Clarke did a pretty good job for the Flyers at the first part of his two runs. He just didn't do a great job at the end. Ironically, Holmgren had a similar arc, just with crazier contracts. Flyers don't even bullshit what they pay some ex players for, I think Parent, Bob Kelly, and a few others have the official title of "ambassador " and their whole job is basically shake hands and be at public events.

man I went and saw Canes/Penguins at PNC yesterday -- that place was a ghost town, and what few fans showed were mostly Penguins fans. I can see why they're considering moving.

It's a shame really because they used to draw a ton of very loyal fans. You have to see this as a failure of the team to produce a product the fans felt was worth the price. I can't imagine moving would help them be a less lovely team. Honestly, considering all the Yankee transplants in and around Raleigh, you can't ask for more fertile ground for an expansion team.

The Player's Tribune has a cool article about the Hockey Night Punjabi guy. It's pretty crazy that he wanted to become a broadcaster since he was like 4 years old and now he's living the dream having built up the Punjabi broadcast from the ground up.

I really like the way he described the different way in which they announce and thought it would be a refreshing change from the usual guys.
