to their credit, the military has taken way more strides in being egalitarian than the legislative branch, especially since the officers and upper ranks are pushing for that sort of thing as of late

and the reason why the military still has any of those benefits post-reagan are largely because of neoconservatives, hilariously enough

there's a schism between the neoliberal neoconservatives (running lockstep with Putin as good collaborators do) and the "no really, we should actually support our troops" neoconservatives going on right now and it would be funny as poo poo if the latter weren't doing anything good right now through the judicial branch and federal infrastructure and none of those are in congress so they go largely unsung :smith:

and it's not surprising that the big donors have left the democrats out to dry within a month following the election. what's not helping is that things are still not urgent enough. or at least, it looks that way.
