I think they couldn't strike the genre balance they were going for and it tanks the whole thing, the music is kind of obnoxious too. It's not terrible though, it's on the better side of okay I think and I do appreciate that it's a short movie and they were willing to not just do a regular comedy or noir but imo they missed the mark.

I thought you meant they were just returning a bunch of episodes to the rotation, but apparently it's a whole new show with a new(ish) cast? I hope the guys do a good job with the robot voices since the originals are ingrained in my head. Even with Rifftrax it's still just Tom Servo and Crow.

I always did enjoy the Joel episodes more, and he's behind the reboot, so I'm proceeding with caution.

I feel like Rifftrax is becoming lazy or something. Their Twilight riffs are some of the funniest poo poo I've ever seen, and semi-recently they've done some great stuff like Guy From Harlem, but recently I've been checking out some of their more recent "Rifftrax Presents" movies on Amazon and a lot of them are just lazy joke after lazy joke. It makes me a bit sad, having been a fan of the Mike/Bill/Kevin stuff more than any other cast permutation.

Everything that's been a Rifftrax Live show has been A+ at least.

I don't really get why they do Rifftrax on movies that were featured in MST3K. I kind of like discovering new bad movies rather than revisiting movies that I already knew were bad.

I only frown when they do a movie they already MSTIED, then do largely the same jokes. That or the weird just Mike traxs. The Fred Willard riff was the best.

Agreed. Drunk viewing of it at the theater with a bunch of drink friends was a good way to watch it. Got about 15 minutes into the rewatch and thought "oh wait this is really awful"

Tons of racist humor but at the end it's ok because they realize all their differences are ridiculous and superficial so the racist jokes were ok all along. :jerkbag:

It kinda worked as a pixar/dreamworks style parody, the sex scene at the end being analogous to the big dance numbers at the end of a lot of movies. It's definitely got a message, but that message has been delivered pretty well elsewhere. I enjoyed it pretty well when i saw it in theaters.

Sausage Party is full of vulgar and offensive jokes, with good voice acting. No one seems to talk about how it's about how society would be better off if we got rid of religions because they're an antiquated idea that segregates us as people, but when you try to force the change like an rear end in a top hat, you're damaging society, and that understanding of our differences defeats stereotypes (in a movie full of offensive stereotypes).

It was a religious and slightly political satire, it's message is very similar to Zootopia, but most people ignored it because there's a subplot about bath salts and a lavash has a ballsack.

Apparently the animators were mistreated too, but that's a different story.

I thought the overt racism makes total sense in sausage party because they all portray products at a grocery store and usually to sell food they use crude one note stereotypes. Marketing is racist as hell.

Okay wow that was really good. I'm glad I never read the book, I don't know if it could've been as intense otherwise. Heavy shades of 28 Days Later/30 Days of Night style zombie action and suspense, and some dumb bio-organic BS that was kind of inconsequential to the story as a whle - aside from trying to be an "original" zombie thing fungus? really? I mean it's no less-dumb than anything else but that tower...

The young actress portraying Melanie is great, too.

I loathe Batman V Superman and most of Snyders films so on a lark I decided to watch the original 4 superman movies with Reeve.
Since seeing them as a child I haven't seen them since their first run.
Starting with the fourth last week and going backward I'm just about to watch the first tonight.
I can safely say Batman v Superman is much better then 2-4.
Richard Pryor they gave you 40 million dollars after this???
I'm hoping the first is decent.
