Like, yeah, Wesley looking boyish doesn't help, but the Traveler can interact with an old shriveled grandma and it would still come off like a creepy pedo perving on little kids.

He was in a relationship with Kes, a member of a race who only live Nine years and she wasn't even One when they first started dating. There is also a very skeevy episode in season 2 or 3 where she gets pushed into their species' once-in-a-lifetime mating state because of ambient space-rays when she's only two or three and it usually happens to Ocampa who are four or five years old. And insists Neelix gently caress her during it, a deed he's not entirely resistant to. I mean maybe that was the demographic Neelix was designed for

I imagine it being like when Charlie first pitched "The Nightman." Everyone else sees it for what it is but the guy is oblivious. A species that lives dog-years sounds interesting and seeing them live their whole life cycle over the course of the series could lead to some actual good sci-fi stories. Over 80 years, that would be about 20 generations. What are the implications and how will they deal with them? But lol no it's an excuse to have a 3-year-old be loving an old troll and by the way she needs it so no guilt!

Writer's Room: When we meet Kes she could be starry-eyed and adventurous. Next season she's matured and becomes a full fledged member of the crew. Season 3 they start using makeup to make her look older and she goes through a midlife crisis. Season 4 she becomes "wise" and content with herself. Season 5 she dies but a kid she had in an earlier season takes her place but the new Ocampan has to struggle with what they actually want in life. Rick Berman: People will be confused. Why is this character changing and developing? The only thing people should need to think about when they see her on the show is who she's in love with. Maybe she could be a telepath like Troi was. Troi was a woman. People will make the connection.

Except that it would be so insane for a producer to approve this that I suspect Berman himself came up with it.
