Welp I'm now considering getting just the Switch and the game so it's under $400 and just deal with the lovely joycons not syncing half the time but I can't even find the system for sale online anywhere. Is the Switch already that popular or is the initial shipment of units a very low number?

Stores would periodically get updated stock for a while but I don't think there have been any to claim for a few weeks now. Just keep an eye on nowinstock and within a couple weeks from launch you should be able to get one I would think.

Is there a specific reason there was no mention of Hyrule Warriors in the Art & Artifacts book? It's not like it's one of the CD-i games, it was actually published by Nintendo even if it wasn't designed by them. A lot of cool poo poo in that one, and I would have loved to have seen nice, crisp pictures of As it is, the book is awesome and huge and well worth the $6 I paid after a gift card.

Even Link's Awakening is considered canon, and has a spot in ~The Zelda Timeline~. Hyrule Warriors interacts with various points in the history, but it's not part of the actual canon- the timeline doesn't change retroactively to reflect the fact that Lana and her version of Link paid visits to Skyloft and like at least 2 different time periods of Hyrule proper during the events of their respective games.

I got to hold a Switch in my hand and play Zelda for about a minute. I immediately ran towards Hyrule Castle and got ganked by several guardians at once and a ton of skeletons. Still managed to get closer than I've seen anybody get in videos before getting killed. It was dope. Controls are gonna take some getting used to, in part because they're very different from previous Zelda games. It seems way smoother and more responsive then pretty much any other open world game tho. That's what is really cool about this game, it's rare to see an open world game with the Bethesda jank replaced by Nintendo polish. Also the Joycon shoulder buttons feel pretty weird, they're really close to each other. It also feltweird that the analog sticks and buttons aren't in the Wii U positions anymore. Dammit Nintendo pick a layout and stick with it!
