This, along with that future Souls game, should really be things.

I like how studios are getting past that weird clone phase and onto making Souls-like games that stand on their own, with Nioh probably being the best example.

It's even a great mechanism for soliciting multiple ingame advertisements, so that you can solicit ad bids from several cell phone manufacturers and then tier the spells available on different phones based on who gave you the bigger revenue stream.

It doesn't need to be funny, because it will probably just piss them off
Night In The Woods is a fairly wholesome little slice of life game about feeling trapped in slowly dying rural america and squandering your hopeful future. It also has everyone as an animal person. The game does next to nothing to engage its art style through its premise, so in practice it comes across more as an author therapy session being played out with paper dolls, but unfortunately this is the internet and once you reach the words "animal people" the rest is sordid tradition.

Lighter searches haven't turned up too much sordid art on it yet, and I'm hopeful it will stay that way, but that is the exact kind of hope that exists to be destroyed.
Most of the art seems to just tastefully echo the game's themes.

Or just play cute with the characters

And of course humanization

But the seeds are already planted for weird down the line.

It's the plot of a lot of things, but they all require you to 1. have a moonbase and 2. militarize space, violating that one treaty.

You don't even have to militarize space, you just need a railgun or other large scale linear accelerator on the surface of the moon, some math, and absolutely no ethics.

If your mass driver has to travel through space to dunk on earthfags you've militarized space.

Also, that's Succy. She knows what she did.

There is literally no reason to put weapons on the Moon to attack Earth when you could put those same weapons on Earth and not 200,000 miles away.

Also I hope A Night In The Woods creator took a page from Toby Fox and said "hey please tag porn of my game 'a night getting wood' instead of with the game's title thanks in advance."

Sort of a reach, but technically correct.

Char gave a game-changing technology to his rival just so he could have a better fight, then immediately got wrecked because he's a strictly average newtype. He deserved to get turned into green dust by that magic upper case T.

(Also, he tried to kill everyone on the planet because he was still mad said rival accidentally killed his underage former prostitute girlfriend.)

Sure there is. There are weapons like Orbital Mass Drivers that fire multi-ton tungsten rods at the earth with the force of tens of thousands of nuclear bombs. That wouldn't work at all if it were on earth, it has to be up high to build up momentum. If it was on the ground it would just kinda fall over. Which I guess is dangerous to random dudes nearby.
