If we wanted to have gotten Ellison or anyone else, we should have been involved enough to have DNC election voters who share our views. So now its time to do that

I emailed both of my voting reps to the DNC to support Ellison early in the process and one emailed me back that she had not made up her mind, yet, but her apprehensions about Ellison were tied directly to the lack of impact Bernie made with black women in the south (like her). Just to point out, Ellison is almost by definition an establishment Dem, after spending over a decade in DC, and nobody should really be upset that someone who's slightly more entrenched became chairman. Perez is slightly left of the party ideologically, was born to Dominican immigrants, and is free from having to deal with both being in office and leading the party. Sure, he's cozy with the Clintons, but he's like one step closer to them than someone who's been in DC as long as Ellison has. For Christ's sake, Ellison sat right next to DWS at the joint sessions address. I think that shows us where his mind is. Ellison wasn't really "the leftist's guy" in the end. He's as entrenched with the party as almost anybody.
