I shook hands with Pence back when he was still Governor and when I was still willing to meet and greet with Republicans in polite company. Generally not a connoisseur of handshakes, but I had a Hank Hill moment when that clammy palm hit mine. I asked him if he had any plans to use the ACA's Interstate Compact provision to sell across state lines while adhering to the law's federal guidelines and he told me his No. 1 priority was freeing all the people on Medicaid from government tyranny. I was just coming out of a rough bout with influenza at the time, so I'm hoping I gave him a bad week or two at least. I also get asked about it by Republican family members every God drat day now that he's Vice President and they're so dejected when I can't hide my contempt for that soft-fingered gently caress.
