So I read here a few times that Bill Leak had a stroke with lead to a noticeable increase in his racist and hateful cartoons. According to reddit it was actually a fall that caused brain damage not related to a stroke. Same result either way, but a clarification for anyone else like me that was under the wrong impression.

2009 is when his site goes from 2-3 cartoons per month to 20-30. The people in 2004 (the earliest archived date) look mostly like Payne's current nose-creatures, but the cars look like actual cars, wheels and all, and there's a fair bit of detail on everything. Obama's election does seem like the breaking point.

If his dad is actually alive then I'm sure it's pretty loving heart wrenching for him to lose his son. That's why I didn't share the tweet. The odds are though that Bill's dad was dead a while ago, especially if heart disease is a genetic thing for their family.

Bill Leak was a vile human being, but given that he became this way after severe head trauma I can't really hold him accountable for his actions and definitely not celebrate his death.
