There was a video posted here a while back, of poker champ Gus Hansen going all in on every hand, without even looking at his cards and just talking smack while getting stupid lucky.

I like Hansen a lot because so many people see him do things like that and ignore the context of what was going on there (i.e. needing to finish no lower than 1st) and assume going all every hand is a reliable strategy for poker in general. They are the easiest people to make money off of as long as you know when to pick your spot and minimize the chances of getting screwed over by bad luck.

e: plus he pissed Hellmuth off which is always a good thing to watch

Helmuth is retarded. He's one of those people that thinks poker would be better if there was no luck involved.

Those Hearthstone players would be killing each other if they played each other like that face to face.

"Pretty Good" is a series that will not be recognized how good it it until it is passed the point the current market is ready to recognize its true potential. The maker will have moved on when he's acknowledged the quality and effort and thought and work put into these videos (very much most of these on the channel)

This is the schadenfreude. Sad!

It sounds like a pretty good card to throw out if you're pretty sure you're going to lose but want to either make it hilarious, or maybe hinge on a 1% chance it just casts a dozen direct damage spells to the opponent.

Pretty much; it's already an all-in even before his effect comes into play, since he costs the absolute maximum amount of mana you can have. And he's infamous for causing you to severely over-draw cards from your deck.

The last two minutes or so of this are a pretty accurate representation of just how powerful he was before he was nerfed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agNT6V7QmlE

"Carbons? Purge? What are you talking about?!"

Hearthstone is cool if you ever played nerdy card games and want to remember why they're usually awful. The first time you play, all these little minor differences from established games will jump out at you, and you'll think "oh, that's neat, I wonder why more games don't do this". Then by your third game you'll realize "oh, other games don't do this because it is tremendously boring in action".

What gets me is that while he's dancing, you can see him glance up at the jumbotron to keep an eye on his opponent. What he doesn't realize is that there's about a half-second delay between what's happening in the ring and what's been shown on screen. By the time he sees the kick coming, it's waaaaaaay too late. Latency's a bitch.

That photo of the pre-Flood diorama raises so many questions. There's metal, so it's clearly not the Stone Age. Is it the Bronze Age? If so, why is a giant wearing Roman-looking (and therefore Iron-age) armor? Why are two guys dressed like Roman gladiators? What are the shields based on and why are they hung around the "colosseum"? Why is there a "colosseum"? Why does the artwork look like Ancient Greek pottery decorations? Why is the woman on the balcony wearing a green minidress and why does she have the cheekbones and insouciant air of a supermodel?

It's just a distraction from being angry that this poo poo is out there and wanting this thing to run out of money (I know a bunch of people who work at museums and historic sites, and money/attendance is ALWAYS an issue; in my earlier post I wrote and then deleted a rant about how the possibility of a Plimoth Plantation-style open-air living history museum near Albany, NY, was a bad idea because Albany doesn't get enough tourists to support a site like that. It is very easy for me to believe that the people behind the Ark museum didn't listen to the experts on running a museum much better than they listened to the experts on science).
