Spoiler solution: Stop buying your beer at the grog warehouse stocked by bulk manufacturers and buy direct or from a specialised distributor who refuses to even touch the mass market crap

Find yourself a nice small shop run by a smartly dressed semi hipster beer snob who also gives great wine recommendations when you want them.

Or home brew if you're into it. I've had amazing home brews that I'd happily substitute for anything off a shelf.

We want you to know that Coopers did not give permission for our Premium Light beer to

I wouldn't hold it against a business for making moderate donations to the Liberal party. It's not great, but not a huge sin in the grand scheme of things. But if they are working with a religious organisation to sponsor a video on SSM, then there's a good chance that they've got some lovely motivations behind it. It is pretty hard to come out looking good when you are working with a partisan organisation.

The ABC posted:

Federal Labor is trying to push contempt of court proceedings against Attorney-General George Brandis, arguing he is not taking an order relating to his ministerial diary seriously.

Senator Brandis and his counterpart, Shadow Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus, have been locked in a stalemate for almost three years.

Mr Dreyfus lodged a freedom of information (FOI) request to access an electronic copy of the Attorney-General's diary, [/b]to see who he met with before sweeping cuts hit his portfolio in the 2014 federal budget.[/b]

That request was initially blocked by Senator Brandis's office, who argued it would take too long to process because he would have to personally approve the release of every item.

Mr Dreyfus successfully appealed that to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT), who told Senator Brandis's office the FOI needed to be processed.

[bbLast September, the full bench of the Federal Court upheld that ruling by the AAT and again ordered the Cabinet minister to process the claim.

But Mr Dreyfus's lawyers have argued nothing has happened since.[/b]

They wrote to Senator Brandis' lawyers informing them they would ask the Federal Court to grant a hearing if he did not process the request, so they could argue Senator Brandis was in contempt of that ruling.

The letter, seen by the ABC, stated that Mr Dreyfus's lawyers have not seen any evidence of progress since their last correspondence with the Senator's office in early February.

It stated that no explanation for further delay has been offered, despite it now being six months since the court ruling.

The standard FOI processing time is meant to be 30 days.

When questioned about the latest claim by Labor, the Attorney-General's office directed the ABC to answers he provided on the FOI claim during the last round of Senate Estimates in February.

At the time, Senator Brandis said it had been "disgracefully alleged" that he was in contempt of the court.

He said that when the FOI had been processed by his office, there would be a response provided to Mr Dreyfus.

Whilst this is just fantasy, it would be nice if Brandis became too toxic to kick up somewhere and instead ended up on the dungheap he really belongs on.

The ABC posted:

Rioters who wear face coverings while taking part in violent protests could face up to 15 years behind bars under new laws, the Victorian Government says.

The proposal follows State Government talks with Victoria Police after violent clashes between anti-racism and anti-Islamic activists in Coburg last year.

Attorney-General Martin Pakula said the legislation, which will introduce a new offence of violent disorder, will be introduced to Parliament next week.

"Too often we see at these events people turning up with masks and face coverings to try and hide their identity or to shield themselves from the effects of capsicum spray," he said.

"For those who commit the offence of violent disorder, there'll be a 10-year jail penalty and up to 15 [years] if you commit that offence whilst wearing a face covering."

The new laws will also give police specific powers to order people to remove a face mask.

"It will be an offence to not comply," Mr Pakula said.

"The Government believes it's important to create a powerful disincentive for people to turn up at these types of public events with face coverings on.

"It will be clear in the legislation that we're only talking about face coverings where the police believe you're wearing it for the purpose of concealing your identity, or for the purpose of protecting yourself against the impact of capsicum spray and the like."

Mr Pakula said the new laws would help police deal with violent crowds more effectively.

The announcement comes two days after pepper spray was used and more than 50 people were arrested in a police crackdown on violent behaviour at Melbourne's Moomba.

Calling it now, the FIRST person to have this law used on them if it is passed will be in a burka and the racist shitbag of a cop will try to justify it using this law.

The AFR posted:

Treasurer Scott Morrison has rubbished the idea that curbing negative gearing would bring down house prices but made no mention of the effect of cutting capital gain tax concessions, which is under consideration.

Speaking on radio 2GB, the Treasurer said the idea that curbing negative gearing would ease housing prices was "just ridiculous", claiming all it would do was drive up rents.

"I don't just see how an increase in your rent improves housing affordability, particularly if you're renting."

The government is working on a housing affordability package for the May budget and has been actively looking at reducing the 50 per cent capital gains tax concession for investors among other measures.

Sources say negative gearing changes are not on the table but there have been two separate reports in the past week that the government has been looking at curbing the excesses of negative gearing. Mr Morrison appeared hostile to touching negative gearing on Monday.

He continues to insist that increasing supply was "the most important thing".

"There's no one housing market in Australia, they're all different."

He said the proposal that "you put up a tax and somehow you can buy a house anywhere you like, that's a lie".

The Treasurer said people, if they chose, should consider moving to regional cities like Tamworth where they could have a house and a better quality of life.

Negative gearing is this amazing beast that both increases house prices and decreases a rent. And removing it will also not decrease prices.
