this is how it commonly works though?

most companies have an individual component and a company performance component, and the individual component comes out of a real tight budget allocated by organizational unit

either your boss or his boss is gonna have to make choices about who gets the biggest chunks out of a very limited bonus pool. (someone real drat close to the ground, anyway)

it's in your best interest to make sure your boss knows how you feel about your job prospects vis a vis bonus sizes :q:

the fairest bonus structure i've ever seen was at a company where my dad worked for a long time, everybody got the same bonus and it was based purely on operating profit margins, so when the company did really well literally everybody top to bottom got a 17% bonus, if the company had no profit then nobody got anything

there's an oil company in houston that's better. they divide the bonus amount among the employees. their 2015 bonus was just over 100k, everyone got the same. a classmate of mine works there.

I'm in the same boat as you. Also seems like the company has no money leftover as I'm hearing other people aren't getting annual raises, not even 1 - 3% COL bumps.

Welp, I've got another on-site tomorrow!

Felt like it went pretty well. They seem to be working on some cool stuff. Everyone seemed genuinely happy. Functional language on the back-end is a plus. Also I didn't feel the overwhelming sense that they're going to a miss paycheck like I'm getting at my current place

That person is not there at 11am, nor are they there at 2pm. I will try at 12pm I guess. Guy on my slack was unable to find any of his QS colleagues at the esri convention he was at. let me guess: 3rd party recruiter was going to do a screen, but the client saw you in the resume stack and wanted to bring you in making it moot?
