This may be my mistake, I've got him with a 4O Sword. Clearly I should give him my newly minted level 4 4O spear.

Wish he had the forward carry of 2B on jumps with it, though. Had to hijack a huge snake bot to get that one chest with the porn DVD in it. :pervert:

The mechanics of the chip system are really good. There is some nonlinear scaling for the bonuses to match the increasing cost of fusing a good, cheap equip cost high level chip.

For example, a Weapon Attack +5 is something like +20% damage. It takes 2^5 unleveled chips or equivalent higher level ones to fuse. The ones that you can buy can cost up to twice as much to equip.

Weapon Attack +6 gives +50% damage for 2^6 unleveled chips. If you fuse carefully, you might be able to fit that in 16-18 points.

There's a chest in the lower abandoned factory I can't get to.

It's near a series of switchback stairs, and it's blocked by some stairs or something that have fallen to almost vertical. There were some of the spider walkers hanging on the wall.

It looks almost like I could go under then up somehow, or do I have to hack the enemies or something? Is it even worth getting?

if you time it really well there are a few ways to reach it by falling off the platforms to the right and then double jumping up to it. what I did was walk off a platform, use the missile program to dash left, and then double jumped up into the hole. it's a meteorite, which is cool to have early but you can buy them eventually so it's not the end of the world if you don't get it.

No one man should have all that Psycho-Power.

Done ending ABCD waiting on e til I can get all sidequests out of the way.

My big question(s)

1.So wait, who exactly built the tower? Was it the androids or the Machines? If it was the androids, then why did the machines get all over it, and why exactly did they build it? If it was the Machines, why is there so much info about the androids there?

2. The twins in red? The machine consciousness I guess? If thats who they are whats with the cannibalism and zombie poo poo that happened everywhere? I thought that was kinda leading somewhere but left me empty handed.

3. Why was the yorha extermination plan done the way it was? They obviously still had the war with the machines in place and losing the bunker basically also means losing the war right and all of android kind? I don't get it.

If this is settled in ending E let me know but more questions than answers for me here.

1 The machines. They basically completely outmatched the androids and had, essentially, control over their highest command. They allowed the androids to continue to exist in order to continue to have an enemy to force evolution through combat.

2 I'm not 100% sure on this- The red girls have control over all machines, even off network ones like in Pascal's village by way of dormant viruses and what not. The zombie virus is them going- ok we're done with you now, destroy and then report to the resource collection unit. Umm except for when Eve went berserk, I think he triggered it. Maybe by accident, maybe on purpose. Or maybe not. I'm just glad they didn't do a zombie outbreak scenario.

3 Yorha isn't all androids, they're only a small, elite part. Like Navy Seals vs. all of the US military. The machines set up yorha in order to set up the human council on the moon lie, then destroy yorha in order to remove all traces of that lie. They did that because the androids were losing their will to fight without any humans to fight for, and the machines want their eternal war.

I have a question too- are there any other early sightings of the red girls, like during the A + E fight?

alright well then Just seems massively short sighted? Starting the game it seems like the androids on the surface basically need Yorha because they are losing pretty badly, and I must imagine the machines control the vast majority of the planet. Setting up for the lie to keep everyone happy only seems to work for me if the androids have things firmly in control to begin with.

they all show up in route B to my knowledge besides the A and E fight, they show up in the end cutscene where 2B chokes 9S, and also when 9S gets in the flight unit to save 2B

also the way i thought of it is you can think of Adam and Eve as network admins, they can take control and force machines on network to do what ever, while the girls are literally the collective unconscious of all machines

the androids were about to give up before the lie. Like even if they were kicking machine rear end they didn't have anything to fight for. If they were happy and winning then not only would the androids not need the lie, the machines wouldn't be able to set it up.

the war is only going on at all because the machines let it. They'll just ease up after the yorha loss, in theory.

that said...

It seems like the machines decided they were done with the androids. In ending D the tower is said to be cannon to wipe out the human server, which does go against that eternal war goal. And I think in the A2 fight they said they'd reached the pinnacle of evolution, they didn't need to fight the androids any more- part of their splintering was disagreeing how to handle A2, keep her around to fight and learn from or destroy her, which you could extrapolate to all androids. I think.

Androids on on the surface are doing okay, they're all basically soldiering nomads and they don't exactly need food or water or anything. Consider too that they were sending up resources to the Bunker and to the Moon, because you don't have fuel in space. The notion is that Earth has resources and androids have set up means of extracting and refining those to service their war effort. Destroying YoRHa doesn't wipe out the android species, but it probably annhilated a significant chunk of their numbers, and whatever resources the Bunker itself had. I doubt the Resistance can build one on their own.

I wonder what the significance is? Like are they there to show that both of them are already infected with the virus that's gonna doom them? Or just a dramatic flair to show that this is all happening to another being's design?

It does make sense, but is very philosophical. Existentialism as Sartre posits does not believe in the existence of god. Nietszche believes in "killing god", which doesn't mean exactly what you would think at first sight.
