Pulling a campsite out of my car is one of those things that sounds super awesome, but then you think about it for a bit and realize you should just buy a vanagon or something and eat your food in there.

I have to be honest that a MoTec setup seems excessive for a NA bmw without ITBs or something that would require that type of control.

All NA M motors with the exception of the US S50/S52 from the E36 have ITBs stock.

BlackMK4 posted:I would suggest you look in to the complexity and guarded secrecy around tuning (and disabling integration with stock electronic modules) stock BMW DMEs. edit: And I have to agree with the youtube comments. 50k, an engine, and a car. I know what it cost to do these swaps and I know when they are solving problems in ways that allow them to pad fabrication profit with parts profit. I have to wonder if it has a PDM30, ignition expander, and of course it has to have the expensive 1400 dollar DBW4 to power the plate motors. tehk fucked around with this message at 02:43 on Mar 15, 2017 |

Must've had doctors doing the labor at those rates. A quick look at swap threads and his thread on the car makes it clear that this is about as easy of a swap as you can ask for. Gotta love how anything can priced to the roof when you add the phrase "but BMW...".

Looks like a awesome angry octopus but I gotta I wonder how much performance that adds outside of the dyno. I get the low end torque bit, but on a Cobra R based mod motor I wonder how effective it would be on a track.
