Looks like an Earl Thomas backup, which is great because Terrell was not doing it. Scattered chatter I've heard is that he's pretty good, but I know very little about him. Bucs fans, any thoughts?

Barry Jackson suggested it doesn't rule out Zach Brown, so I'm assuming he's slotted to be your backup.

I like him a lot as a back-up here, he can back up most of the front 7 competently.

yeah that's fair. i think the advent of easy to watch recaps/highlights, plus lack of parity in most leagues, has made regular season game watching outside of football (with a tiny amount of games) a waste of time. same goes for football unless your team is real fun to watch or challenging for a playoff spot that you haven't made in a long time

Is ET expected to be back before the season starts? Might be a stopback until he is healthy since it is only a one year deal

This might be true, but the teams winning the off-season tend to sign players fast and furiously. Just goes to show Jay Cutler is not a winner.

He's got some gas left in the tank but no one can stand him so he might be done until someone gets desperate.

ET is supposed to be back and healthy for the start of the season, so I imagine this is a depth signing. Have to think the team will draft DBs too, it's such a deep class.

Gary Barnidge and him do stuff together, maybe he comes to CLE, but really we don't need a veteran RB so.

Eh... he's a 33 year old running back who got 3.5 YPC behind the same line Bell got 4.9 running behind. Dude is almost certainly toast at this point.

A 34 year old running back is a terrible gamble at anything but leage minimum. Even then you are better off just drafting a rookie and seeing if they pan out.

34+ running backs with 4+ yards per carry since 1970, minimum 50 attempts, the entire list:

At least in the Jets case Kaepernick might be good enough to accidentally win 6 game which would be the worst case scenario.

Kaep is most likely better then Jacoby Brissett, but still, a backup 2nd year 3rd round pick QB isn't going anywhere, so Kaep probably doesn't have a roster spot there either.

But lol at like the Raiders signing EJ Manuel over him to backup Carr coming off of injury.

Yeah, I'd rather have Kaepernick then Brissett if Brady was injured next year, but Brissett's at least young enough to develop into something better.

Imagine the Giants with Geno Smith trying to throw the ball to ODB and Brandon Marshall. They'd both become spree killers within 3 games.

Well the Bucs re-signed Chris Conte and signed JJ Wilcox over him so that's something. He played nearly every defensive snap last season and was mediocre at best. Could do worse for a backup signing.
