If Moorer took a dive (he didn't) he took a dive the hard way by letting himself get lit up. And yeah, knowing that just makes the Ali fight even more impressive and I agree it was just a mash of everything working out to make history.

Tennis players playing at advanced ages are super impressive because the prime of the sport is so much younger. Federer winning the Aussie Open was amazing. It's just not as taxing as some of the other sports mentioned. It's not a shot at Tennis, which is a cool and good sport

Like if you're an Olympic gymnast at 28 it's more impressive than being a QB at 38.

I'm fine with it, but I think they want to try to eliminate kickoffs, and they need something that convinces teams to boot it into the endzone instead of what teams like the Pats' did last year, which was try and land it just short so teams would have to return it and do poorly at it.

Kalli posted:It'd at least keep people's attention slightly which is good, but feels pretty gimmicky. Yeah, the other part of the problem is that even though the intent was fine--returns got much worse since players were much, much less likely to get past the 25, the percentage of touchbacks didn't actually increase (my rough/quick math puts 2016 at 56.8% of kickoffs, compared to 56% in 2015), because returners were just as likely to run it out and get smeared. I think this is partly due to perverse incentives, though--if you're a return specialist, you aren't being paid to take a knee.

On the snap, everyone on D holds like crazy, runs 6s off the clock. Move forward 5 yards, attempt the kick, you are 100% for sure not giving up a TD there. Or the Ravens in one game last year, 10s left, they have to punt. Entire offense just tackles everyone on the D, punter runs around until time expires then takes a knee.
