Societal interconnectivty doesn't work in Andromeda like it does in the Milky Way, but further exploration isn't out of the question.

I followed some tips posted by another poster and changed all the texture settings to 4 in a profile file in the save folder in documents. Last night it ran like a dream so hopefully it's a permanent fix until better optimization comes through patches. Where can I find these tips? I've been having similar problems with my 1070.

In certain situations, with the windows of the Tempest showing complex spoilery objects behind the hexgrid effect even to 20 fps (all 3440x1440/2560x1440 on a Nvidia 1080). Since we're talking about colonialism I actually think ME:A was a decent portrayal of how it starts, at least how it largely did in North America. Nobody (or very few) in the initiative explicitly came to Andromeda to kill natives, but because of things entirely unrelated to relations with the Angarans you have people going out and settling new lands and encroaching on native territory which causes conflict (like in Kadara, with Roekaar brutalizing exile colonists) which creates hardliners and even as the colonial government genuinely wants to make nice with the natives (partly because they need the natives) there are Angarans asking questions like "Even if they're nice and cooperative, what happens a few years down the line as their numbers keep growing exponentially." Fortunately for the Angarans the Initiative didn't accidentally bring an apocalyptic death plague with them and also there isn't the religious dimension that there was IRL People who think that a colonialism narrative needs to either be "noble savage" or "white devils" don't appreciate how complex the entire thing was and how it occurred relatively slowly over centuries.

Angarans are very prolific and adaptable as well, not Krogan levels pre-genophage, but without the Scourge and Kett keeping them down, they'd be a force. And they're pretty big too.

Burkion posted:They're not cured of the genophage yet. They increased the survival rate of newborn to 4 %, which with their birth rate is pretty catastrophic already (it's 40 times that of the rate they had in the Milky Way). I hope they lay the whole thing to rest and simply handwave the whole thing to a longterm stable rate - I like the Krogan, but we neither need them a dying race nor the equivalent of the Zerg.
