I don't think it's meant to compete with the fidget cube, a device where the main selling point is being small and discrete. This stick is closer in spirit to a yo-yo.

I remember a toy like that 30 years ago.

It was like those "culbuto" (tumbler) toys but with two weighted bases instead of one

Have we had the dumb tablet yet? I've seen it around quite a bit.

https://www.kickstarter.com/project...B_EN_KS-tablets

It's a cheap tablet that mirrors whats on your phone.

It's the same as buying a cheap tablet and putting a mirroring app on it, except worse because you can't use the tablet independently.

Pebble isn’t the only smartwatch company.

You can still buy watches that do those things.

I was talking about the commercial failure meta watch brand. Now that I think about it, it was pressing buttons and not swiping. The simple screen and the lack of apps that required processing power gave it good battery life.

I could buy one of dozens of Chinese smartwatches with a poorer battery life, identically ugly UIs, and the need to swipe around on screens that are a bit too small for me to use effectively. But they don't meet my needs.

Pebble going out of business was a good thing for me because it resulted in this smart watch comparison spreadsheet.

I bought myself a Vivoactive for Christmas because it does the things you listed while being relatively small, cheap, and battery‐sipping.

fakeedit: That spreadsheet has really gotten out of hand :spergin: :stonk:. It had way fewer columns in in December.

Sounds like what you want is one of the Garmin exercise watches, like the Forerunner 235. No touchscreen, just side buttons for controls, will show weather and notifications when connected by Bluetooth to your phone. Has, of course, extensive options for recording heart rate and speed/distance/steps while exercising. There's also a small little app store, mostly very simple things like extra watch faces and that.

They also make fancier models with touchscreens, and stuff like that, but the Forerunner 235 is what you'd want it seems.

There's ShamPaw linked upthread, but there's several different grooming gloves out there, unsure if any came via KS. Sounds like assistive technology and/or a way for the dog to feel more comfortable about getting washed.

I don't think I've dealt with a dog that doesn't like getting washed/being pet. Her dog is extremely friendly so I doubt this is an issue and just seemed pointless for her.

A lot of those other FMV heavy games have been remade in a similar way, they work quite well. Some of them even have singificantly higher quality video because they can finally get the video off of the source film at better than postage stamp resolution.

If you're just doing basic cuts with the blade, it's perfectly fine to just grip the knife by the handle, so there's not really a problem there. But, it's super annoying to chop or dice etc without gripping the blade a bit, so this knife would suck poo poo for anything like that.
