Northwestern football complained about playing on two Fridays, so the conference changed them to Saturdays. Enjoy FS2.

Absolutely nobody was going to tune in to see Northwestern play Maryland anyway, and you're never going to get the 2-3 schools that are any sort of a draw to agree to do a Friday game. This was an idiotic decision by Delany in the first place and I'm glad schools are pushing back on it.

I don't care about high school football at all and if it's a Friday where I'm not going out I'd rather watch that than most MAC games or whatever. But I do totally get why schools don't want to do it or dislike midweek games generally

But I do totally get why schools don't want to do it or dislike midweek games generally It's a fact of life for the MAC, hell now the entire month of November, nobody in the MAC will play a Saturday game, which itself is kind of wild to think about. I just think you either go all-in on this sort of thing or you don't. The B1G wanted to do it halfway. At the same time, the MAC schools have literally nothing for them but TV exposure. Even teams like Indiana and Northwestern can still draw live crowds.

Northwestern draws a crowd as long as they're playing a school with lots of fans living in Chicago or willing to travel

What's your guys take on analyst's like Kenny Smith and others publicly cheering for their teams during broadcasts? Kinda curious. if I'm approaching things from the wrong way via being annoyed.

If they're supposed to be neutral (such as if Brian Anderson somehow has to call the Brewers in the post season on national TV, which has happened, funny enough) and doing that, then by all means, be annoyed.

Most of the media is just lovely Celtics or Bulls fans anyway, and like all of Fox Sports One's west coast media crew is ASU alum so I just know the media is out to get me, personally and maliciously, so I'm used to it.

Amazon Prime is taking over streaming rights for CBS/NBC Thursday Night games https://www.recode.net/2017/4/4/151..._source=twitter I know I've heard Amazon wanted to get into the sports streaming game so there it is

Interesting. I still don't get what the benefit is for these online companies if the games are on network TV. I thought it'd be interesting if Amazon got something like the NBA. Would be great for the sport and Amazon can actually create a streaming service that functions right unlike the NBA.

One is that tons of people don't watch things on their TVs exclusively. The other is added value for Amazon Prime. They LOVE adding poo poo to Amazon Prime to increase its perceived value. An NFL logo would do them wonders, even with the NFL not quite being as powerful and valuable a brand as it was a few years ago.

But I guess if they have nothing but money to spend, it adds to their image a bit. I could see having the exclusive streaming rights to Sunday Night Football or something. But TNF sucks and you can still stream it via NBC/CBS and Verizon. Just seems like a really narrow audience to target. Amazon picking up sports seems like a good idea but I think they'd be better off going big and getting Sunday Ticket or one of the other League Pass packages which bring enormous value to Prime customers.
