Which video was that Ramirez? Was it the video of trump blatantly encouraging a foreign state to hack his opponents during a national debate? I bet it was probably that one.

Ramirez's stubbornness has always been this weird manifestation of just vomiting up soundbites and talking points, regardless of relevance. I'm not even sure he knows what this phrase means anymore, and he sure doesn't know how to make it applicable here. Regardless of any of that, we're still on the "it's the fault of the people who found out there was wrongdoing, not of the people who DID the wrongdoing!" which is weird considering how much cheerleading guys like Ramirez usually do for government whistleblowers. Literally the opposite of reality and "no you". Aaand what the gently caress does that even mean? Like I get that Branco's fully willing to buy that the EPA is evil and the only way to fix its crooked regulations are to loving destroy it entirely but what would a "socialist mop" look like anyway?

Stultus Maximus posted:The Republicans will change the rules so that a simple majority instead of 3/5 is required to confirm a supreme court justice meaning that from now on, there is no limit to how blatantly partisan a justice can be and be confirmed if the majority party also holds the white house. Nitpick: You only need a simple majority vote to confirm a Supreme Court justice. That won't change. But if someone filibusters, you currently need 60 Senators to vote to end discussion and move on to the vote. Democrats lowered that to a simple majority for other judicial appointments (long after it would've helped them), and Republicans are threatening to do the same for Supreme Court appointments if the Democrats try to filibuster. Republicans say they really don't want to make that change, since they might want to filibuster in the future, but they're going to do it anyway, unless they can convince however many Democrats (8? 10?) to vote with them to move on to a final vote.

I'm hoping that during the 2018 elections the American people realize that the majority of the problems we faced over the proceeding 10 years have been either created or exacerbated by people with (R)'s next to their names. I know it is a foolish hope since this is the American people. A people who have long since divorced themselves from facts and reality or who have become totally apathetic towards politics.

The "best" part of the Pepsi commercial comics we'll see is going to be how they'll claim "Libtards everywhere HATED it so much that Pepsi felt compelled to remove it!" When in fact, most people will have very little to say about it aside from articles you read about it. Not to mention the fact that the only thing to blame for them withdrawing the commercial is the same thing that encourages businesses to offer a "Press 1 for English" option: capitalism.
