As much as I still read the NYT et.al. twitter really is so much more current in this mess of an era. What I find myself doing is reading news articles and glancing over at CSPAM once every few hours to see if there's anything that's causing a collective reaction. Much like this thread, dumb story as it is, got a collective reaction from the airline story (since it's something new) while barely a mention and a sigh at the shooting (which are scarily common, and normalized). There's just so much winning happening every day that I need the distilled emotional reaction that the threads provide to feel some sort of solitary to stave off the existential terror. Like Russia knowing about chemical weapons use. Knowing ahead of time and being ok with it is new but doesn't come as a surprise to anyone here I think. So there's not much a response, because the story just confirmed what we suspected.

The best reaction I can give to the school shooting is that so far at least, I'm thankful there aren't any dead kindergarteners. As far as Russia, are we really surprised that a country that regularly murders its own citizens out in the open would support chemical weapons usage in another country? Is it safe to call Syria a puppet regime? If we go to war with Syria do we go to war with Putie Pie too? Edit: RE: flight chat Made to DFW, didn't get punched. LOL if you are trying to fly in or out though.

For reals though I see that situation as a pressure cooker building up steam. Everyone thinks twitter runs everything, but it's a poo poo business, doesn't make much money, and is run really bad. It's just really easy to link poo poo here with twitter and it provides a base for knowing that the post isn't full of poo poo.
