I'm starting to wonder where this season is going to end book-wise. Are they going to cut Prax's Go-fund-me campaign storyline and go straight to Io? I kind of hope so. The Kickstarter storyline was pretty dumb.

Yeah it was stupid but it set up the Prax/Amos heart-to-heart after his ex wife accused him of abusing Mei. I haven't seen the most recent episodes but it seems like that's getting cut which is a shame because I love that scene

Avasarala on Mao's ship is going to have some unrealistically abbreviated travel time or the plot changes. Venus either punts to next season with a cliffhanger or advances suddenly. It's still possible for them to finish all the big action beats of the second book.

I dunno, might be right, but here are some pretty vague descriptions that could point either way: 12 Apr 12, 2017 The Monster and the Rocket A discovery pushes Naomi and Holden apart and sets the Roci crew against each other. 13 Apr 19, 2017 Caliban's War The Roci crew must fight to save the ship. A picture from: Not sure, that could be the station on IO just as easily as the Roci cargo bay. Not sure what the DISCOVERY would be or what would lead to internal fighting.

The discovery will be Mei is alive on Io, along with many protomonsters. Holden will want to nuke it from orbit anyway, its the only way to be sure. Actually, (TV only speculation): Holden could instead discover Naomi didn't destroy that bit of protomolecule. Not sure why it would come up now, except that scientist dude has been floating around since his escape from Tyco with some ability to sense it. Dawes is due for an appearance. We already have things like munitions that won't arm themselves until they've gone a certain distance, spiraled a certain number of times, and reached a certain velocity. The hard part is the making it sticky. Edit: vvv Oooh, poo poo, combine that with a fuse like above so the shell automatically drops away instead of needing to drop it and throw it by a handle.

Pharmaskittle posted:I'd get sick of not having green vegetables, but mushrooms are about the only thing I could completely replace meat with and be ok A lot of it comes down to how much money you've got. There's aquaculture and vat-grown meat in the Belt that's supposed to be really good, but it's not cheap. Rice and legumes seem pretty widely available. Beer and spirits are almost always based on fungi. Traditional Belter food/poor folks' food is largely made with an eye toward not making a mess in null gravity with unexpected accelerations: dense, partially dehydrated food that won't make crumbs. It's eaten with a little spatula and is literally called kibble.
