Yeah she's a pretty awesome singer. :) Good range and plenty of power. I love her belting out those super high wails in Tonight We Ride, and she really nails those soaring melodies in No More Heroes. And the harsh vocals aren't her, the guitarist does those and yeah they're honestly pretty weaksauce.

Makes sense. I think if they want to do the dual vocal thing a baritone clean vocal or a deeper rasp would be a way better contrast.

The Decibel Tour is really fun this year. I'm ashamed to admit I left early during Kreator due to exhaustion/dissatisfaction with their setlist (not their performance itself) - the Kreator I know and love is the 80s version. They apparently play Under the Guillotine and Pleasure to Kill at the end but I couldn't stand any longer.

Obituary sound loving huge live. I had never heard Midnight but I knew they were supposed to be fun. They are in fact extremely fun. That pair was a great reminder of why I like metal shows in the first place.

Horrendous crushed it obviously but I would hate to play a solid set and then have Midnight follow me. I would also hate to follow Midnight if I was in a band of lesser status than Obituary.

I was supposed to go to this today in Indianapolis, but I'm on my way to a funeral instead. Glad to hear that Midnight are killing it though.

So it only took me 5 minutes of listening to Bölzer's new album to completely fall in love with the band and I remember hearing that this one a divisive release so that's cool. Giving me Mastodon vibes in a really bizarre death/black metal way. This is a sound I'm enjoying a lot.

It's very different from their EPs, which you should definitely check out

For sure, I'll likely give this one a few more listens and then dive into the backlog. Hopefully it's not extremely different because I'm fully into this.

You can pre-order the album now, because it's going to be awesome. Based on the single it's a continuation of their take on an Immortal/Moonsorrow mash-up and is very good poo poo. Something about their tone or riffs just seems really unique in a sea of sameness.

The audio mix on the YouTube version is kinda dogshit for some reason; apparently it's not like that on streaming services. So your iPhone speakers might actually be appropriate.

I'm listening to the Apple Music version now and yeah I don't know why the video mix is so hosed. The song is much better with a proper mix.

I'm still not hugely into black metal, but Havukruunu are so goddamn good. Havulinnaan was a great album and this one might even top it if the rest of the songs are this good.
