They're both valid positions, really, unless the person in case did some truly abhorrent poo poo. Knowing that someone defends some garbage does kinda detract from my enjoyment of their content, I can't help it - especially because you start noticing when it leaks to it.

I agree with separating the art from the artist but I also think it's 100% fine to choose not to consume from a source you find abhorrent for any reason. I fuckin love Orson Scott Card books but that dude is a lovely loving loony toon and don't begrudge anyone that avoids his works because of it.

It is, as you pointed out, near impossible to avoid giving any money to someone whose views you find abhorrent in our society. You cannot avoid it all, I cited the example of nestle, but yes telecoms are another good example. But when it is as simple to avoid as unsubscribing and not going to certain places on twitch and youtube, then I avoid it. I can't avoid all media franchises, I can't avoid using the internet, I can't avoid buying food. But when it is as simple as checking/unchecking a box to remove support from someone, I'll do it. Now this is a heck of a derail, and if we want to continue going on about this topic we could do it in PM or if you want to start a thread in D and D I'll happily take part, but I don't think this really has much to do with fightgames.
