I've read someone's write-up about why SFV just isn't a fun fighting game to play and his main point captured the core problem I have with the game perfectly (besides "everything" I mean).

The core problem with SFV is that there's barely any way to express yourself.

In SF4 for example you could get good results by playing in a variety of different playstyles. Maybe you're a combo monster that lands all those dumb 1f links all day long, or maybe your spacing is so good that nobody can press a button against you, or maybe you have godlike reactions that you exploit or whatever.
Meanwhile in SFV all characters are so homogenized and a lot of mechanics are either streamlined, removed or just aren't practical that you're simply left with very little options in how you can play SFV.

I can honestly deal with SFVs garbage netcode, poo poo normals, gimped Vega, F2P business model, etc if only the game let me play in an enjoyable way, something other than rushdown all day every day.
