Thanks to Switch, it's even possible to play games like Dragon Quest Heroes in glorious 720P multiplayer local.

Get the dragon mail and continue further to get the thunder ring which allows you to break blocks. Then, go back the the beach and there are blocks you can break underwater to reach a heart and the next dungeon

MHX was already not a "full" sequel, and XX is the Deluxe version of THAT, maybe there's just a fatigue wall of how many samey 3ds games the fanbase has an appetite for. I know I'm done with it until a Switch version.

Keep in mind the last Monster Hunter game is a full price expansion to a game that already felt a bit half assed. Monster Hunter 5 will probably sell well if Capcom doesn't gently caress it up.

I know I'm done with it until a Switch version. mhx was a full sequel in the way any monster hunter game has been, this series is extremely iterative and you'd be surprised going back to even the original ps2 one how similar it is to current monster hunter and how many assets are still used. i loved it for a long time but it's just too similar from game-to-game and mhx was really where fatigue set in record fast, and it seems like i'm not alone there. i'm definitely done until monster hunter gets some kind of serious overhaul from the ground up.

I definitely could have shaved a few seconds off my first lap, but it bugs me that there's no real feedback during the trial. No ghost, no indication if you're over or under at any given time, all you can do is try your best and see how it turns out.

So I caved to the art style and bought/beat wonderboy, and was amused in hindsight that it's literally an inverted shovel knight. It's not bad, but definitely a little opaque at points, and suffers from not touching any more recent game design principles. I do feel pretty good about being able to beat it without touching any guides/faqs for it, though. Also, whoever said "you don't need to grind", you were technically correct in that you can beat the game without grinding, but there is definitely some grinding that needs to happen if you want to buy everything from every store eventually.
