I can't stand The Cure. It's the throaty, crying sound of the dude's voice. Sorry Robert Smith you're probably a cool guy or whatever but your music makes me ill. I'm also not a big Beatles fan, but they were not the greatest rock band of all time either, that honor has to be given to the Rolling Stones. If only because the Rolling Stones never really broke up and is still going today which is incredible. Not that I desperately love their music either, I just think they match the Beatles in terms of importance and musical ability, and edge them out on longevity. I make turkey burgs on occasion and you gotta cook them in a cast iron pan with some kind of oil, and don't overcook them or they'll be dry and awful. Done properly they should plump up in the middle with juiciness. Paul Simon is fine and good but Graceland is amazing because of the vocals by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and is an incredibly important work because of the story of how the album and tour got made in defiance of the international sanctions against South Africa. LBM is still together and still tours and is worth a listen-to. Leperflesh fucked around with this message at 18:56 on Apr 20, 2017 |

If every member of the Beatles were alive today they would've gotten back together a handful of times. If The Police did it, the Beatles would have.

One pretty great thing about going between the US and Hong Kong a lot throughout the 90's was watching musical tastes slowly migrate over with hilarious lag time. Like, imagine it 1996 and you're watching Channel V music videos and it's grainy footage of these three tiny chinese boys in FUBU gear swinging orange capped pistols around rapping about... I dunno, probably bitches. or it's '92 and you're watching a chinese knockoff of Poison doing arena rock in front of what's probably 40 people on a soundstage.
