I'm being really considerate with my S- Link progression because the minor antagonists introduced in the latter half of some Links are some of the most vile people in the whole game and it would drive me crazy to leave them without a comeuppance. Special mention to what goes down in Kawakami's, holy poo poo.

Yeah it's weird when your social links aren't balanced with mementos progression, so you go in to fight a school-yard bully, and a pair of child pornographers. Like god drat they don't pull punches with how bad some of the minor and major antagonists are.

A dude who cheats at video games which makes his shadow the most powerful in all mementos. Because he literally cheats reality so that invincibility=true.

And you beat him by becoming good enough at video games that you can beat cheating through skill.

Knock down one, talk to it to get it to auto-join and then just kill it in the future. You get more money from killing it than it costs to buy from the Compendium. :v:

Kawakami's entire link is great, and with the set up it gets, I was absolutely not expecting it.

On the topic of maids, I just want to give a shout out to the dumb joke in the maid cafe where the maid fails to write "The impermanence of all worldly goods" on an omelette in ketchup. Top work there.

Kawakami's link is the best and everyone who reassured me that her non-romantic ending was suitably heartwarming was right. I loved her suddenly switching into Serious Teacher Mode and worrying about Joker's diet and study habits. Though I think the most satisfying part of the whole thing was the little scene at school where the students all talk about how much Kawakami has changed and some of them talk about going to her for advice and how they look up to her. That part was really satisfying and good

The cheater quest just reminded me of how in P3 if you were legit cheating at the game there was special dialogue from Mitsuru and Fuuka in battle about how disappointed they are in you now.

Man, considering that exploring Mementos is mostly optional, I wonder if anyone just ignored it and got a rude surprise at the end of the game.

As someone who ignored like half of Tartarus the first time they played P3, yes, I'm 100% certain there are people who ignored that.

Psh, if you were actually cheating you'd make someone else be your navigator, like say Akihiko.

I love how the individual party members occasionally invite themselves over and you still being able to leave Leblanc.

I picture Joker trying to crawl out of the second-floor window in order to get away.

I really hope the next Persona has a ridiculous/goofy premise like this game. The aesthetics really help tie everything together and it's got me eagerly looking forward to anything similar to it coming from Atlus in the future (as someone who's first Persona/SMT was this). Gonna be big shoes to fill though.

they even bothered to dub + voiceact this thing that 99% of players won't see, even though they managed to leave a bunch of broken japanese garbled text lines in the OG version that you actually have a decent chance of seeing

The next Persona should swing to the other side of the spectrum and have the main characters be cops and eventually their informants who go into the collective unconscious to solve unsolvable crimes. Set it far enough in the future and Makoto can be a playable character again (though they don't seem interested in repeat party members post-Persona 2). Her social link could involve going to her apartment where her unseen husband makes the two of you coffee and curry while you stay up late going over evidence so there can be a bunch of Reddit posts who are like "is her husband supposed to be Joker???" like they're the only one who thought of that

Also it gates off literally every social link in the game except your party member's and the automatic ones to some extent.

In fairness, Ryuji is pretty consistently stupid, and there are at least a couple of plot arcs that happen entirely because he can't keep his loving mouth shut.

I still love the guy, he's my bro who had my back when no one else did, but Morgana's not exactly telling a falsehood here.
