Actually, they're more likely to pick 4th overall than 1st, 2nd or 3rd overall.  Even if the Avs don't end up with a top 2 pick, I doubt they will move their pick. Even with this being a projected bad draft, generally teams who pick in the top 5 are not going to move their top 5 pick.

I mean they apparently seriously weren't trying to tank and my sole experience with them was the Habs of all people 10-0ing them which is more goals than les boys are likely to score in a week of hockey let alone an evening. That feels like roughly 5% of the Habs entire season goal title right in that one game, but yeah yikes.

Some of those guys will either need to be moved for future picks to spread out the ELC years, swapped for similar level Ds or used in a quantity for quality deal.

Seems like a pretty good move by the Hurricanes. Certainly more upside than Lack/Ward. Well, maybe about the same upside as Lack if he isn't completely broken. Living in Winnipeg I have an undying hatred for the Jets so them moving up last year made me super annoyed. If Vancouver is going to drop (they will) - just don't let it be because of Winnipeg. I should really change my avatar. I feel like I enjoyed the idea of the Jets far more than I enjoy the Jets.

Reports that Paul Fenton also interviewed with Buffalo this week. As of now, the list of confirmed candidates for the Sabres' GM position are: 1) Bill Guerin 2) Jason Botterill 3) Mike Futa 4) Tom Fitzgerald 5) Bill Zito 6) Paul Fenton I don't know what to expect from Guerin, Fitzgerald, or Zito, but I really like the other three. Still waiting to hear if BriseBois ends up interviewing
