It's more complicated than that though because means of ingestion matters. SDS is a good example. Harmless in solution but nasty if inhaled. The dose and the vector make the poison. Fluoride and monofluorophosphate ions may have a place in dental hygiene but a) why is it being ingested? b) what does that have to do with industrial waste, especially as other contaminants are concerned?

Look, I know it's tough to understand that water that was once part of Hitler's testicle is no longer tainted, but it's okay, we'll get through this. On the bright side, you probably think that drinking trace quantities of industrial runoff makes you immune to industrial accidents. It does handily explain the decrease in injuries and deaths among industrial workers over the years, right?

You're among people who can teach you science and that water doesn't actually have a memory. Just relax and crack open a chemistry textbook. Everything will be fine.

This has been argued endlessly. The buildings were designed to withstand two 707 impacts. Building 7 collapses on its own? My dad used to get drunk and over stoke the fireplace. I remember watching the grate get red orange and slowly sag under the weight of the oak logs. Later on in welding class I learned where steel moves. Steel resists movement well above 1800 degrees. It moves very slowly when it deforms. There is only one steel framed building collapse. The building was fully involved and didn't have the anti draft measures to prevent significant oxygen flow to fire which burned for 24 hours, the top 10 floors collapsed on one side, there are pics, etc. The wood stove doesn't collapse.

Really, the entire logs in a wood stove analogy is almost certainly too different in detail to make any useful comparisons to steel beams and jet fuel and whatnot

I've been talking with an acquaintance who lives in NY who believes that there is a cabal of taxi drivers who are secretly enforcing Sharia Law upon members of the Muslim community. One of them apparently threatened him because at one point he stated interest in studying Islam, so I guess he's under the cabal's purview now. He's gone as far as to make a police report about being threatened. I can't find this being discussed on any of the usual conspiracy sources so I'm wondering where he got this from, or if this is all him here.

At least in Oslo it doesn't seem controversial that taxi drivers are one of the ways the conservative Muslim (especially Somali) families hear about what sort of heathenry their younger family members are up to. Earlier this year the city moved a taxi stand that happened to be outside a large gay bar because some of the immigrant clientele there felt like they were being monitored. (ref) Of course, Oslo is a small city, and the Muslim communities are both so small and so overrepresented among taxi drivers that this seems plausible - the taxi drivers kind of correspond to the stereotypical old women in small villages who notice what everyone does. It seems less likely in a place like NYC. Computer viking fucked around with this message at 17:21 on May 5, 2017 |
