NANI?

The DMC3 PC is port is infamously bad, it's the reason Capcom decided to start porting stuff themselves instead of leaving it to the lowest bidder.

It runs worse than the PS2 version would with a lot of unnecessary hoops to jump through to even get to that point so I'm just going to pick up a console copy.

Is system shock 2 worth playing if I was unimpressed by Bioshock?

Some of it feels pretty dated so it depends on your tolerance for corridors and general unfriendliness.

Might depend on what you didn't like about Bioshock, the games are only similar in the sense that Bioshock is an infinitely easier, stripped down, somewhat superficial take on the systems and conventions SS2 established. On the other hand SS2 has a lot of technical jank and weird intricacies that are bound to frustrate modern players; by contrast Bioshock is both a lot easier and more polished. Personally I think it's worth it because when it comes to atmosphere and story for a FPS (if you can even really call SS2 a FPS), SS2 is just about second to none. I strongly recommend hunting down some of the mods to make it play a little better though.

The one big reveal about halfway through SS2 is one of the best gaming moments of all time IMO.

yea, or alternately the overlap on the venn diagram of "people who are young and excited enough about gaming to want to be early VR adopters" and "people who have a home with enough extra space in it to devote it to gaming" is shrinking because nobody under 40 has any loving money and the people who do live in expensive apartments

maybe that's what you were saying actually idk

Nah, that was the Resident Evil 4 PC port that finally did them in. The port for PC that didn't have mouse support (???) or real-time lighting (?!???) and all the cutscenes were pre-rendered on the gamecube (!?!?!?!?!!)

i tried out htc vive at a windows store and was like "yep this sure is a bunch of Wii minigames but now its VR"

literally there's a Carnival Games VR on Steam now. VR so far is everything that was bad about the Wii but without any of the good good Nintendo games

that probably hasn't helped maintain excitement

These days I use my PSVR every couple of weeks for ~3 hours at a time, to play through the latest "experience" release. Some of them are good but nothing since RE7 has had more than one session of meat to it. I will get Elite and play it regularly (probably) if it has PSVR support, but it's getting awfully close to release for them to keep saying "no comment" so they might not have been able to get it working acceptably.

If you haven't played it before it's definitely worth tracking down; a classic of the genre. Y'know whatever that... technical beat'em-up whatchacallit. People seem to frown on the "Character Action" descriptor now but like cmon you know what it is. make sure whatever version you play is the Special Edition with Vergil playable; it's neat.

On a trip right now so I've been separated from my precious Persona 4 and am giving SMT4 a shot since I bought it a long time ago and never played it. The stories are true; the game just unrelentingly boots you in your gender-respetive sensitive organs right outta the goddamn gate. poo poo.

Also System Shock 1 is great, don't pass up the opportunity to give it a try. I played it for the first time last year and it's some of the most fun I've had from a game in ages.
Antiquated in a lot of ways, the maps are ridiculous rat mazes designed by a maniac, equally confusing controls, and bullshit puzzles that barely even work. But once you get the hang of things, sliding around Citadel Station at mach speed and whacking enemies with pipes becomes second nature. There's an updated version(?) on Steam that apparently added mouselook by pressing E, which was my bread and butter, I imagine the game was a complete loving nightmare to navigate without it.

Some genuinely cool story beats and fantastic sound design even by today's standards. Scary as sin in places and all. It's good, I like it, big thumbs up.
