They could have designed the car to incorporate the plate... But US plates are indeed uglier than Euro format

I saw a 300SL once. It didn't look that good in person. I don't know, something about it felt off. I think the 190SL looks better. It looks all right at this angle, though Also, wire wheels.

I can tell you now that you should never drive the standard versions of those. Or maybe you should so you can realise just how amazing the ones you've just driven are.

A friend's mum used to have an R5, and I drove the occasional metro back when I lived in the U.K. These ones are waaaay better.

I can't believe neither company bothered with the little extra detail of matching the suspension drop with the last couple of inches of spoiler raising, so it looks like the spoiler is static and the car is dropping from under it.

^^ this. I do appreciate how smooth McLaren's action is though. GT just looks like it's a spring mechanism that's been released, needs to be more classy.

I'm surprised active aero has never made an appearance at LeMons or similar (there's been at least one fan car at such cheap car events, but that's not the same thing). Suspension height sensors from something with air suspension or HID lights to let you measure pitch, and you can probably nail together something vaguely workable from other junkyard kit and an arduino etc to enforce a simple "keep the car level" maxim, plus air brake functions. It might not be a huge advantage, but it'd be worth cool points.

Doesn't active aero get instantly banned in every racing series the second someone starts taking about it?

Not going to lie, I'm seriously peeved that outlets like SlashGear got invited to drive the GT and we didn't.

Yup! That's it. It got banned as soon as they saw it at tech. There's a reason that the "Dangerous Banned Technology" is only awarded in extreme cases, instead of regularly now.

The only thing I've watched relating to the car is Baron Von Grumble's video, who's not only a YouTuber, but isn't even a car YouTuber, he mainly vlogs while riding a bike.

Active aero is ok in LeMons. Using a bowling ball, which would probably very easily snap off, was a bit too much on the "dangerous vs safe" scale for the organizers.
