I loving loved Terriers, but I wonder how much of that is specifically because it had a story to tell, it told it splendidly, and then it got the gently caress out. I don't know if I would be down for the continuing run of "Recovering Alcoholic and Shifty Ex-Thief are too small to fail, succeed by pure gumption".

Donal Logue really did a phenomenal job on that show though, he had just the right mix of dry wit and scruffy hobo look to pull that sort of burnout character off.

I really can't recommend Agents of SHIELD enough. It's really grim in the first few episodes, but it's an absolute treat from the back half of season 1 onwards, and it really keeps up the pace with exciting plotlines. Just about all the characters are interesting as well with good arcs, even the ones that were lame in the beginning.

GonSmithe posted:

I can't recommend not watching Agents of SHIELD enough. It's not a treat at all and is a steaming pile of dogshit through and throughout.

Most of season 1 is a slog to get through, until they tie it into Winter Soldier. After that, it becomes an incredibly fun show to watch, with interesting storylines and characters you really grow to love. Then they make the mistake of writing off the two best characters on the show for a spinoff than never aired. It was still watchable, until the back half of the current season, which is just awful awful awful and I'm ready to give up on the show.

If only the post I was responding to was about Marvel's IP largely being made into weak-rear end, nobody-dies PG-13 punch-pulling movies. If I felt like responding regarding television, I would have brought up Legion instead.

Bobbi and Hunter were written off the show to give them their own spinoff called Marvel's Most Wanted, that ultimately wasn't even picked up.

Adrienne Palicki's and Nick Blood's characters were introduced in the second season to set up Marvel's Most Wanted, but ABC hated the pilot and decided not to order it to series. I think I remember reading that the producers were going for a "Marvel meets Mr. & Mrs. Smith" vibe but it just didn't work on any level.

I don't understand this. Mallory Jansen has been wonderful and they handled the "Hydra-run world" concept way better than the actual comics have managed.

Agents of Shield isn't the best show that I watch (right now that would be Fargo or The Handmaid's Tale), but it's the one I queue up as soon as I can when I get home. Wednesday morning at 7a, Hulu comes on. The others I sometimes just don't want to watch after a lovely shift.

Yeah I saw the teaser and was like "nope!" but maybe it's smarter than it appears. Netflix hasn't let me down on much - outside of dropping my favorite shows or films with no warning, and for keeping Adam Sandler's career afloat for no discernable reason (although his new thing looks good, I'm just too sick of him to watch. It's not like Ben stiller who ressurected his career - Sandler just gets worse or wastes everyone's time with some bullshit feel-good movie every other time he does anything.)

I couldn't even finish Sandy Wexler but the bar is so low with Sandler, I can recognize that the half movie I watched was the best thing he has done in years. It still sucked though.

I can understand that. If we talk about reading comics I was allways more a DC fan but if I have to choose between watching Marvel or DC shows I would always choose Marvel (sorry supergirl 😘). The quallity is much more better in the case if you count shows like daredevil and the others from netflix too, for me are world's between the production quality between Marvel and DC.

By the way I don't think Mr. Mouse faild with Rourge One.

Yeah I finished it all, and I absolutely loved it but I don't think I fully understood a couple things. So. very final moment of the final episode spoiler, and some stuff that happened before that too, some stuff didn't actually happen? When she completely rejected him and he woke up. That was all a nightmare or something? But how far back didn't happen? I think his text message is supposed to be a hint as to how far back his nightmare went. But then, the very ending is the same poo poo right? But still I don't know how far back it rewinds the whole thing.
