More impact may have the loose of viewers after the first episode.
Hopefully the move forward Neil Gaiman himself is Executtive Producer too and wrote some Episodes...

Secretly force socialism, communism and imperialism types of government onto the people of the United States of America.

The Place Beyond The Pines is up on Netflix US. Need to rewatch it, but I really enjoyed it in theaters. Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, Ben Mendelsohn, Mahershala Ali, and Ray Liotta, to varying degrees. Gosling plays a tatted-up motorcycle stuntman who works state fairs, finds out he has a son with an ex-girlfriend, decides to start robbing banks to provide for them. Things go as you might expect. Really powerfully told story of risk and consequence, inversions of luck, and morality.

You could say this as well for Last Kingdom s2, except that it also has a hell of a lot more guyliner at least in the first half.

Also Sense8 is a way more interesting and smarter show.

I've really been enjoying Person of Interest which has been recommended in this thread before. I'm a third of the way through season 2 and it's bucking a lot of annoying trends that happen in "similar" shows. For one, characters and elements actually return in subsequent episodes. Another thing is it actually seems like the plotline has been somewhat planned out in advance! I hate when shows just seem to yolo their way through seasons or set up threads and never deliver on them (Fringe being a good example). Anyway it's pretty entertaining, it's got heart, and can actually be pretty funny. My wife also thinks Jim Caviezel is a silver fox and was shocked when I told her he's best known for playing Jesus.

Just watched this and it was a very fascinating case that was hard to watch. Definitely recommended!

I wish they'd explain more about the dad's visitation rights while Gypsy was growing up, actual interviews with Gypsy's boyfriend (Nick) and his family and more time exploring Dee Dee as a person and her feelings towards Gypsy. She felt like a carciature but there's a lot of questions like 'why' and 'did she really love her daughter?'
More third party people that interacted with Dee Dee/Gypsy throughout the years but I'm just brainstorming.

Regarding the verdict I can't think of a person that deserved a suspended sentence more than this poor girl; after all that she was put through; and the fact who knows what drugs were force fed her by her mom at the time I was so goddamn agnry they gave her ten years

They mention it a little with the dad that the mom kept moving further away and was hard-selling the poor health and 'mental age', but they could have touched on that more, yeah. I agree on your other points too Well, I know that the boyfriend/ his family declined to be interviewed, and it seems like they couldn't exactly do a whole heck of a lot of third party people through the years, because as they mentioned, if family got suspicious, she moved further away/cut contact and friends/neighbors mentioned she was always in the room w/ Gypsy and constantly holding her hand. So, like, a lot of it seems like nobody actually knew what she was really like as a person.

I would have also maybe liked more of an indepth discussion of Dee Dee's early years that soured her whole family on her so badly (spoilers because of extreme WTF) the offhand way the stepmother just dropped 'she poisoned me with weedkiller; I almost died' and the fact her own father was pretty much like 'flush her ashes down the toilet, I don't want 'em', and what exactly normal stuff Gypsy does/gets to do now. Like classes? Hobbies?

This interview with her cousin (the tattoo shop owner from the doc) has the most goddamn :smith: final quote, ugh goddamn.

Thanks for the recommendation - it's a pretty incredible story. My opinion of Gypsy was changing every minute while watching. I think my biggest unanswered question is the facebook post (which somehow still exists :wtf:). I don't think Gypsy commented on it in the doc, despite being pretty open about everything else she did. They briefly touched on her "multiple personalities" but basically said she was putting on an act for her boyfriend. Maybe that could explain it, but still, going on to Facebook and boasting about a murder (from the perspective of her boyfriend), while deluding yourself into thinking there won't be any consequences seems to indicate some pretty severe mental issues. I hope she can somehow live a well-adjusted life after she gets out.

edit: maybe I missed the obvious interpretation of the FB post - that Gypsy was trying to make it appear as though someone else killed the mom and kidnapped herself.

Do you have any interest in horror movies? Because Shudder has a deal where you can get a Chromecast for free with a discounted year subscription for, like, $50 or something. It's a ridiculously awesome deal.

If you aren't looking for anything like that, Amazon's is more affordable at, like, $20, and very easy to use. Chromecast might be better if you always reconsider whether you want to keep Prime each year.

I like the Firestick's interface better.

^^slick little standalone streamer, size of a deck of cards, also comes as a stick like a jump drive^^

Rokus are probably the best, Amazon Firesticks have a UI and everything and basically work like a roku. Chromecasts are meant for casting from a device to a TV, so you can't even use them without another gadget to actually play Netflix on, and consequently can burn in hell in a big pile.

I completely forgot Rokus exist. Thank you. I have our old tv in my office and I want to be able to watch something while I work without having to sacrifice one of my monitors.

My office is also in my bedroom so it would also be nice to watch tv in bed and not on a laptop!

The pro for the Chromecast is you can use every source you start for example a stream with your cellphone and the localcast app I linked before or a tablet.
You can use your laptop too to start a strem than the Chromecast takes over.

A good point too is you don' t have to pay to view like the fire tv what only makes real sence with an Amazon Prime abbo.

The old Chromecast you can get verry cheap. I prefer the expensive on because I like it that I can use it with a cable too and not only with wifi like the old ones.

Much stuff for example YouTube and so on you can watch for free. With the localcast app for example you can stream the Pictures from your serurity cam if you want ....

Can firesticks or chromecast sticks run Kodi? I just assume they can't, my Roku couldn't but it was kinda old. I have a Roku 4 or something lying around somewhere, but I don't use it anymore because I got a (admittedly crappy) smart TV which practically does everything the Roku did, except HBO Go. And the Plex app for Roku was really buggy when I was using it. I also got my computer hooked up to it with a kinda long HDMI cable for a few niche streaming apps that don't run on my tv and some games and stuff.

If nothing else at the $30-50 price point can run Kodi I'm gonna be the dork to suggest a Raspberry Pi 3 B-)
Except, then you lose out on Netflix, Hulu, practically everything else besides Kodi.

How do apps in general work for FireTV and stuff? Are there even apps? Do they have their own isolated app stores? I might get one if it could stream HBO Go and Crunchyroll for my animez.
