When I read about a lot of this type of internet drama I see a recurring pattern of childish people trying to adopt an identity to justify why they shouldn't have to change their behavior or attitude. I think its more than just wanting to be a member of the club/oppression olympics.

Being asexual is a real thing, but there are also physical and mental conditions that can result in low sex drives/discomfort with sex. It's probably easier to apply the wrong label to yourself and find an internet crowd to validate it than to go to your doctor or find a therapist and have an awkward discussion and deal with a problem.

I feel bad for her husband, but he chose to marry her so I guess he's down with near-celibacy forever. Why would anyone marry an asexual person.
