While that makes perfect sense to me, I rarely replay games, so all that means is that I get dunked on for a portion of the game for not being grand master supreme. Although I am not actually too terrible at Platinum's stuff for it to bother me, I'm just thinking back to how games like MMZero would penalize you for using game mechanics to get stronger like old Megaman games would, or not awarding you the actual enemy weapons unless you scored high enough.

The reason why you tend to get stone rank during the first playthrough of Bayonetta is because you miss all the secret areas. Once you find those it's not particularly hard to get Gold or Platinum.

When I say the combat sections I only mean the normal ones. Some of the trickier alfheims are too hard for me right now, and the qte right after the lava street ensured that I got a stone trophy for that level. The QTEs and the "think fast" nature of the cutscenes are some of the few bad things about Bayo 1. I'd always forget that they'd want you to dodge right out of cutscenes until it was too late.

I used to be friends with a girl who was a writing major because she wanted to write video game stories We're not friends anymore but that's because she decided to be a massive prick to me and act like we were never friends because one of our mutual friends, Kat, told her to stop being friends with me so she more or less decided to burn the bridge entirely because someone else told her to. Funnily enough, she'd talk to me about how she didn't like that people just treated her like a miniature Kat and that she is her own person and she doesn't want to be seen as just a smaller version of Kat, but when push came to shove she was more than willing to just dump it all to keep being a mini-Kat. Apparently she ended up going to full sail university to finish her degree. She transferred there because the college we met at wasn't making her happy because she only wanted to write happy, christian-friendly video game stories, and the creative writing classes would give her work that required writing things that weren't solely happy. She didn't want to learn to write stories that had anger or sadness in them because she didn't want the stories to contain those kinds of emotions. I remember her telling me about how her dad was trying to say to her that you shouldn't just devote yourself to just one kind of writing, that you should broaden what kinds of writing you want to do, but her takeaway from that was that she should make sure to learn multiple different kinds of game writing and not just focus on turning her knight-turned-into-a-bear story into a video game.

It came with Minecraft and I'll grab Rare Replay at some point. Mostly grabbed it because I have a ton of credit at the local store I shop at and the 360 I got off of Amazon a few years ago on the cheap to replace my original red ringed 360 was... well, really cheap and I can play most of the 360 games I care about on the thing. Just gotta hope Vesperia gets added to backwards compatibility at some point. I think I also own ReCore because of it being on both Win10 and XB1 but I think I remember the actual XB1 version being a trashfire for more reasons than it being ReCore.
