In negotiations you get three options. If any option is highlighted in red, the negotiations will end after one ask. Yes, even if 'join my team' is red, and you ask for money, it's gonna end after one ask.

If no options are highlighted in red, you can ask for money / items multiple times.

For those of you who are doing or have done NG+, do you think it's worthwhile to kill reaper in NG? Or should I beat the game at a 'proper' level the first time? If you did kill reaper, what did you use the level boost for?

The Join My Cause option being up doesn't seem to cause the money extortion to end after one try in my experience though? I wouldn't be surprised if it was random, but I'm fairly sure the few times it was up and I asked for money it didn't end after one go.

I didn't kill him the first time through, so I ended the game at level 74'ish. In NG+ I kill him just so I can speed-run Palace 6 and 7 (and beyond) through Ryuji's instant kill confidant skill.

I did it once in NG just for giggles, and it definitely took the wind out of most of the very last dungeon.

Based on everyone's impressions, the final stretch of the game isn't that hard even if you don't kill the reaper. You want to be right around level 70 for the final fight.

I say just do what you like.

I never even spawned him in NG. I only used him in NG+ to get to 99 and all the 80+ fusions without having to farm money. Having Divine pillars for each party member was just gravy

I needed to play better it's 12/10 and the rest of this month is a wash. I wasted too much time earlier and I'm fairly positive I won't be able to max any more s links between now and the end. I'm half tempted to just fast forward the days but that's an even bigger waste. Grr.

I killed the Reaper three times in my first game and was Lv. 70 by the end of the sixth palace and around Lv. 79 by the end, still fighting everything I didn't Ambush and instant kill. For reference someone said they didn't fight the Reaper and were Lv. 74 and the average level on the last day was Lv. 80 so it's really not necessary

Why does everyone think I'm going to get in trouble?

I fought the reaper once after beating the 7th Palace boss on my first run and ended the game at 75, so I had everyone's final skills. Honestly by then the final boss is kind of a joke since you can do absurd amounts of damage every few turns.

I avoided the Reaper because I played on Hard and am used to him being one of the most powerful foes in the game, and didn't know you lose access to him at the end. In my platinum playthrough I plan to dunk on him repeatedly.

Turns out there isn't. I checked the fusion calculator and it looks like there are no Resist, Null, Repel, or Drain Gun skills at all. There are Personas who can null or repel gun, but nothing that you can inherit.

So few enemies use gun damage anyways, it's fairly inconsequential.

Yeah the only reason I farmed the Reaper was to get everyone's final skills and since Goro bounces early, I wanted to at least get all his stuff however fleeting it was. If that fool had actually used the Debilitate and Megidolaon I got for him, that fight woulda much been much tougher.

The Reaper really does neuter all challenge tho since Tarukaja'd - Concentrate - Agidyne/Blazing Hell Ann is loving bonkers by the end, probably regardless of what you do

since there aren't any gun resist skills, there are relatively few options for an insane gun damage persona. counter works on gun attack skills, and that is much more common than enemies that use gun attacks themselves. fortunately, one of the few gun resistant personas is mara, and mara naturally learns a good chunk of what you'd want. mara's not really the best option, but it isn't a bad choice and the alternatives aren't penis chariots.

Seth was my Gun skill guy for a while. He doesn't resist Gun but he gets One-Shot Kill and Cripple really early on and that did me well for a while. Mara is obv higher leveled, but you can get Seth earlier on a clean run and he's required for Strength.

Mara's full 3D model in HD is a little much tbh

The spellings on these are gonna be off but I'm pretty sure rangda, grimhelka, that thing from the bank dungeon that starts with an s have repel gun.

And how am I supposed to beat Futaba's uncle? The one who deals almighty damage. I didn't stand a chance against him :ohdear:

Honestly as long as you keep Personas about up to date with your level, you should be fine for palaces. I will recommend a Rangda towards the 2/3rds mark of that palace though.

Yo I just did this last night and I noticed that if I switched to a persona that nulls or repels physical naturally, dude would switch to Megidola and destroy me. But I switched to my persona with the skill Null Phys and he just kept on trying to Rising Slash me to no effect. You get a Null Phys skill card from beating the video game cheater guy, if you need one.

Rangda's really good for that palace.

There are a few Light/Dark-weak enemies, so if you don't like using Crow you might want to be able to cover those.

I feel like your actual choice of Persona is fairly inconsequential as long as you got all your elements covered and you're consistently ambushing all the guards - and why wouldn't you be? Hit everyone with their weakness, AoA, done. 80-90% of the fights should end without the enemies even getting a turn.

This is based on Normal difficulty though.

You have to buy them (the picaro and normal persona are always sold together), and then you can either fuse them or just summon them from the compendium. First time is free per dlc persona

If you have the DLC, you should be able to get them from your compendium for free and then they enter the fusable persona list too.
