Hot Diggity! posted:DCCC put 340k into the Montana race vs. the RNC putting 1.3 million, the NRCC putting 1.8 million, and the CLF putting 2 million in. Trump dominated the state and a progressive nearly won largely without help from Democrats. Bernie actually went and helped unlike the rest of the party who sat on their hands. That's a fair criticism. I understand them not wanting to spend on a race that ended with a seven-point margin, but they will probably be getting a lot of donations to make up for it. On the other hand, Quist turned down Perez's offer to visit and seven points is not going to be made up by more ads. Lots of non-Bernie people donated to Quist, including me. I do wish the Dems would hire more organizers and rely less on ads, though. Republicans tend to participate more in social institutions like the church, gun clubs, etc. and get a lot of advantage from that which could be made up with more organizing.

I like all kinds of cake, but pie is superior. The best pie is better than the best cake. My wife agrees so we had wedding pie at our wedding. Well, six wedding pies. We got these three tiered pie stands so they were presented like a tiered cake, sorta, except pie not cake. It ruled. We spent a lot of our wedding night at a hospital after my sister had a grasshopper jump in her face causi g her to drive off the park road and crash into a tree which made my drunk stepmom panic and she wasnt really that hurt but enough that we had to go. While my sister cried because we missed our reception and it was her fault, which, yes, kind of, but whatever, everyone was ok in the end. Honeymoon is way way better anyway. We went to Mendocino, it was really nice.

Cake sucks. Cake frosting is overly sweet garbage. Edit: Connecting it back to weddings, my wife an I kept our wedding cake for the first year, as is customary. We pulled it out of the freezer around our one year anniversary, took one look at it, and dumped it in the garbage. What a weird rear end tradition.

Bake a German chocolate cake in a 9x13 sheet pan. Take a wooden spoon and poke holes all up in that bitch with the rounded end. Pour a can of condensed milk and a jar of caramel topping over the top, cove fit in crumbled up heath bar and stick it in the fridge to cool and soak. Pull it out a couple of hours later and top it with cool whip, and then cover it with more crumbled up heath bar. That's my southern families lazy rear end holiday desert and it is loving delicious.

Republicans tend to participate more in social institutions like the church, gun clubs, etc. and get a lot of advantage from that which could be made up with more organizing. The concept of forums is a real interesting one, in that it's difficult to figure out what exactly is the best medium for a liberal one versus the obviously known conservative ones like you mentioned. You'd think protests could serve as a substitution for the cafe culture that brought about the socialist revolutions of the early Twentieth Century, but the Wisconsin protests against Walker seemed to net few gains and people in Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matters seem to shun the political process and identifying themselves as such in the political process. It seems, sadly, the best fomenting of leftist sentiment was found in unemployment lines since that's what eventually kickstarted the New Deal, and we're still a bit of ways away from that. Hopefully these town halls show good results, but no candidate is going to identify as "The Town Hall Candidate" (well, McCain did, but eh), and there needs to be a broader movement not just within the constituency but the actual electables themselves. This is me just spitballin', I'm not totally sure where I'm going with this.
