Vanessa is a great utility character because you're guaranteeing at least five wasted minutes of an increasingly angry Jason tracking a Vanessa from house to house.

So, in theory you could stay in a cupboard, in a well lit cabin and it could take Jason ages to detect you? I might try this when the servers are back.

I believe lit paths will also restore some fear, just not as much as houses. So flashlight on in the woods, look for paths, and use houses if power is up. At work now, hopefully they fix any server issues by when I get home tonight. Somehow they weren't bothering me anyway, but it's not as fun without goons. A couple key things I've noticed:

The shift into dodge is some massive bullshit and for all intents invalidates the defense mechanics, you can also just mash the buttons to kill someone as soon as you grab them as well. I'd tweak the poo poo out of that but the game is fun otherwise, I also like that you can get xp from private matches, hit level 7 yesterday from just dicking around with a friend. I have a theory that you should all try this as Jason (haven't got the chance to play yet): After you're spotted by the counselors in a cabin, Morph a tiny distance away and hit Stalk. Those poor kids will probably think you just left. You didn't.

Just got killed early on in a game but I'm glad I stayed to watch because Tommy Jarvis and three counselors all piled into the car and actually got it going down the road, but then Jason shifted right into its path and bam all 4 dead within the next like 90 seconds. It was hilarious.

Second game I got to be Jason and killed 6/7, pretty happy with that. They kept trying the car and driving right into me, like you can't run me down dummies. Couldn't find that last fucker though, no noises and my sense wasn't picking anything up  .

You have to pick up a physical paper map to access the game map. These can be found in a a drawer, or in the box by the big board map which is outside a group of cabins.
