After all, what better way to protect your granddaughter from a tree demon, than with a magically enhanced punch to the face?

There's things like hugely nerfing certain attacks like Beastmaster's releases so Yellow Dragon/Zuu can't hit heavy targets, making it so Chemist's mixes can miss, making Shinryu immune to blind/berserk, and even bizarre things like removing Defender's ability to cast Protect when used as an item, I don't think the changes are as big as you make them out to be. Shinryuu can still be blinded and berserked--Omega is significantly harder but Shin is unchanged. Chemist and Beastmaster are the only classes that are really nerfed, and in the case of Chemist it only moves it from God tier to slightly-less-than-God tier. Beastmaster is still an incredibly versatile class. Berserkers are buffed considerably, to the point where they almost don't suck in most (non-Sandworm) situations, as are Geomancers. Really, what it all comes down to is that the real reason the Matrix versions are objectively worse for the Fiesta is that you can't fast forward. When you're ten runs in and you are watching Galuf walk slowly toward Exdeath for the tenth time--the thirtieth time, really, since you've done this for three years now--that's when you want a goddamn fast forward button. This also, weirdly, disrupts the class tiers: any class with an instant run skill or that is faster than average (like Red Mage, interestingly enough) is bumped up a tier, and grinding for Turtle Shells is just miserable so I barely even bother when I get a Chemist. And the CK / BB debate is basically thrown out entirely, as you're never going to kill everything you see unless you want your runs to average 15+ hours.

Impossible to triple crown, sure--Omega's basically a non-starter without a Bard or a Chemist or a Mystic Ranger. Even a full Quadzerker run is technically possible at max level and with a lot of luck. Although I'm certainly not willing to try it. edit: again, my first run last year was Red-Zerk-Red-Dancer. That's real bad. But I did it. It was also some of the most fun I've had doing the Fiesta. W2 Exdeath was the most amazing fight I've had in any Final Fantasy game, barely hanging on for the entire fight with dualcasted Raises and praying for Sword Dances. Not in the Matrix versions! Matrix Omega doesn't get mixed up by wizards electrocuting themselves, or by looking at himself in a mirror, or by that guy in the funny hat stopping time and just staring at him while he rusts. But he still loves that guy with the harp and he still can't quite figure out how to kill that guy who just stands there and does a whole lot of drugs.

As far as teams that it would be impossible to beat on a normal run in the mobile version, I have a suspicion four Berserkers would be impossible due to the changes in how Berserkers target. I haven't actually mathed it out but all the characters focusing solely on the Vacuum Wave portion of NED for the start of the fight is probably a death sentence.

PS Shinryu is still vulnerable to Berserk & Blind, there's just no reliable way to stick Blind anymore. I'll agree that Triple Crowning a FJF run is important to you, then Mobile/Steam version is probably the worst version. Maybe a LLG challenge run too? That said, there is, as far as I know, only one team composition where it is *probably* impossible to the beat the game in the Steam/Mobile version. 99% of the changes impact optional bosses, and the mandatory boss changes are not anything remotely game-breaking. Omniscient becomes the new roadblock, but reflecting Mage Masher Silences have been confirmed to work still. Omni is only mandatory if you roll Mime in Pure Chaos, and you can Mage Masher Silence him with every possible team composition except for Monk/White Mage/Berserker. I would wager that you probably can't smash Staves of Light on him. At that point I'd just Job Fair out Mime and move on with my life. e: Also forgot Quadzerks, who probably couldn't take down NED. Of course, Quadzerks on PSX also have to deal with NED's dummy targets, so I don't necessarily know it's possible there either. None of this is nearly as awful as laggy PSX load times. So if I do a plain ol' regular run with berserker risk, is there a chance to end up with multiple zerkers? It sounds like at this point getting one is guaranteed if you sign up with risk, and that sounds kinda fun, but I dunno if I'm ready for more than that.

Hello, Fiesta veterans. Do you find your Fiesta runs lacking? Are you getting tired of seeing awful Geomancers and boring Dragoons in your Fiesta party? Do you wish you could have something more... exciting? Try spicing up your next Fiesta with a new... Final Fantasy V Advance Randomizer Just drag a Final Fantasy V Advance (US only!) ROM onto the randomizer and get two randomized ROMs in return! You can even use patched ROMs, as long as they don't change job skills. That's right, you can randomize Fiesta Patch and Sound Patch if that's what your heart desires! The program will also spit out two text files that summarize the changes in each ROM. The first ROM you'll get is the Mild edition, which randomizes what the default skill of a job is, and the skill tree (i.e. what skills you get when you level it up.) The second ROM is the Extra Spicy edition, which does the same thing as the Mild edition... ...except it's different for every character!!! That's right, in the Extra Spicy ROM, a Bartz Monk will have a different skill loadout than a Faris Monk. For example: code:
