Somebody said something good about Albany (metro area)!quote:Less than 15 percent (14 of the 100 largest metro areas) outperformed the average of their peers on composite scores for growth, prosperity, and inclusion, largely knowledge hubs and energy centers, though Detroit also made this group. Just 11 of America’s 100 largest metros saw gains in 9 core measures of the Brooking’s measures of economic growth, prosperity, and inclusion. Eight metros registered gains in inclusive economic prosperity for both white people and people of color, and only four metros—Austin, Denver, Charleston, and Albany—experienced inclusive prosperity in its truest sense, that extends to all races and classes. Those metros saw their median income earnings gap between white people and people of color decline. Even though Albany ranked lower in terms of economic growth and productivity, it managed to make improvements for racial inclusion, increasing median income and employment for both groups.

apparently when subway announcements talk about "train traffic," it usually means that they're spacing the trains evenly for god knows what reason there's an assemblywoman who has a monthly meeting relaying information from albany about a particular topic, and this month it'll be about transit. i'm hoping for a lot more people showing up than the last couple times i was there, this poo poo is becoming a daily occurrence and it's completely unacceptable

get that OUT of my face posted:apparently when subway announcements talk about "train traffic," it usually means that they're spacing the trains evenly for god knows what reason They do this both to close gaps in service and to create headway between trains so that trains can actually move. If they don't respond or adjust service at all even relatively minor delays will quickly cripple an entire line.

Is there a definitive list of "why Cuomo sucks"? My impression is that he's started talking a big game about being "progressive", but has a history of only supporting garbage half-measures at best. I don't actually remember anything specific to back this up. same for schumer
